I thought it was cool too until I read that the streaming and iPhone app only works with the HD Hero2. I can't justify upgrading from the HD Hero for that functionality.
 
Drown your old GoPro to justify the cost. Worked for me.

That sucks. Good that you can control multiple cameras with the remote and start them all at the exact same time but you need a wifi backpac for each gopro. The app would really make it worth the money.

The remote is great but it's not the "killer app". :cool:
 
Also the app isn't ready yet. My guess is summer will be over before the GoPro app is out.

Still neat, just don't expect too much.
 
Cool toy but I still prefer the LCD
 
what mode is he shooting when its on his head?

I wonder if you're somewhere that someone else also has a remote if it could interfere with your camera, like at a race track.

I just hit the buttons, then hold my goggles in front of me to check for my red light in the reflection.
 
that's pretty cool. I think the Contour GPS has the wifi built in (might be BT, not sure and their site is down right now) but doesn't have the remote.
 
hero2 is like 300, then another 100 for this wifi control. 400 for this cam. waiting for price to come down lol
