anyone used this type of system. I like to wear jeans for comfort but am looking for some more protection what does everyone think?

Personally I'd be willing to give something like that a try. Although I'd likely be more prone to wearing leathers, something like that under kevlar jeans on a hot day might not be so bad. :dontknow:

There is also the Forcefield Pro Pants.

I would rather get Knox Armour, or Forcefield if I had the money, or Alpinestars or Dainese. Not so crazy about the Bohn brand.

It takes a bit of getting used to and they can be quite warm especially under reinforced jeans. So much so that I would rather not wear them. There is a light weight version available as well that might be a better option. They keep the armour in place, but regular jeans v. asphalt does not really work. I have no idea how the undergarment would hold up in a slide. You would still be paying the bucks for decent pants.

Cannot comment on the effectiveness of the pads, I have not "crash" tested them yet.

For the summer, I wear kevlar cargo pants (reinforced at the knee and bum). Underneath I wear Dainese V Knee guards:

If I'm going for a long ride, I also wear VnM gear underneath everything for added comfort.

I dunno. It seems like they may get pretty warm, especially with jeans over top. Also i couldn't find a skid rate :S

Will be going the Olympia Airglide Pants route this year and plan to either wear these underneath or experiment in putting the D3O hip armor into the Olympia pants.

+1! They stay in place, offer excellent protection, and aren't too warm on 38deg days racing.

I'd try what the OP originally posted. I am currently looking for a way to protect my knees, the only fear I have of individual knee guards is them shifting round. I'm not sure though I've never tried it before but that's just my worry.
