I gotta go with Die Hard, even if it isn't 'technically' a Christmas movie.
Turn off the Hallmark Channel.None, they all seem the same to me.
"You'll put your eye out." - love it.A Christmas Story for me, largely because I was friends with Scut in high school
Yep. I think it has lasted because it captures the feeling, better than any other. of being a kid at Christmas, regardless of generation. Wanting a particular toy so badly that you feel it with every fibre of your being (GI Joe hovercraft was my Red Ryder BB gun one year), the weird traditions and routines your parents and extended family would go through that didn't quite make sense at a young age, the manic energy kids of a certain age get as the day draws closer, and if they didn't do it themselves, everybody knows at least one other kid who licked something cold and metal and got their tongue stuck.A Christmas Story for me, largely because I was friends with Scut in high school

Trading Places is absolutely a Christmas movie. Dan Aykroyd sadly pulling a pilfered salmon fillet out of his Santa beard is a burned in memoryI've never been onboard with Die Hard being a Christmas movie, it's fun that it's during xmas, but if so might as well include Trading Places as another non conventional movie.
