october/november an 08 CBR with under 20k could be had for around 5-6k. Now everyone wants at least 7 and some people even brave enough to ask for 5k for an 03 with 30k and no mods.

why toronto why?

i watch the cbr600rr prices all the time since i got mine. and i couldnt find 1 at 5 or 6 grand if it was over a 2007.
what i found was :
03-04 was 4-6 grand
05-06 was 5-7 grand
07-08 was 6500 - 9 grand
09-12 was 8-11 grand.

i got my 09 with about 2400km for 8100 or something like that. give or take a handful of km and a few bucks.

This is when it makes sense to just go to a dealer and buy pre-owned

2 of my friends got 08 CBR last fall. one was a low slide with cosmetic damage and 10k ish and the other was not dropped with like 16km ish both lightly modded both were bought for 5gs.

i was also looking at a graffiti CBR with 15km for 5400 lightly modded not dropped.

people are just fishing.

Email the seller with a fair offer, once/if they respond to GFY respond that your offer still stands and will reduce by $XX amount each week. If someone's desperate they're better off taking your offer than hoping for another buyer.

Don't worry, at this rate we won't even get a summer.

^^^^ yeah I agree with that ..

It's a sellers market right now. You can wait and wait and lose out on riding time, or just pay the premium and enjoy riding for the full season.

I suspect most people have the latter mindset which is why sellers are able to get some of the high pricing that they're asking for. I'm hoping that's the case at least as I'm listing my bike in a few weeks.

there is a graphiti for sale at 402 bikes for 6 grand with 16k on it

thats the best ive actually seen for pricing this year, but obviously that was either a crash and repair or a repo because i think thats all they deal with there.

The 07-08 pricing is about right from what I saw last October / November. The only '08 I could find for $6,500 was dropped and the lowest priced, clean '08 was just over $7,000 with 25k KM and some mods. I don't see a price increase right now but the selection is down.
ya anything under what i posted as what ive seen as normal price ranges was damaged in one way or another. i almost bought a 09 black with ABS that had some scratches on the fairing but the sellers mom wanted him to get a certain amount for it..i would have paid but he just started pissing me off.

i know for the year of my bike i paid about average, but it was bran new, well cared for, i have extended warranty through honda till 2018, and it came with a corbin, pazzos, stands, gps/sms alarm with smart phone app, and a big box of cleaning supplies and oil. i got a trustworthy seller that cared about the bike which to me is added value.
i almost bought new, tried to get a 2012 model but it sold before i got there, then i thought about the 2013 last year, but once you add up all the taxes i think it was $15,500, so me paying 8grand for a used one with next to no use was almost half the price.

out of the 600cc SS bikes, the CBR is the most expensive new. the 2013 model will cost you more than a 2014 model GSXR, so the CBR used costing a little more than the others is common.
if anyone finds a 07-12 cbr 600rr with light damage please let me know, ive been wanting to pick up another 1.

heres another 1 that seems to be a good price.
$6700 for a 2008 all stock with 16km...looks clean

:lmao:

You buy bikes in october/november/december when people are desperate to sell.

If you're selling yours you sell it in spring when people will overpay just to ride something...

noobs...

Sounds pretty typical to me. Mods count for almost nothing in resale so there's no real point taking issue with that. It's generally accepted that used bikes are overpriced in Ontario and especially in the GTA. It's the demand. If the demand weren't there the prices would eventually fall regardless of how hot an owner thinks their machine is. That being said, asking price isn't fetching price... though I've never seen a decent condition '07+ model for sale anywhere near $5K.

Look outside the GTA for slightly better deals. When I bought my second '07 it had 6,500 kms on the odo and I paid $6500. But I had to go to London to get it. At the time, GTA asking prices were generally $7K - $9K for '07/08's with much higher mileage. If I were to sell my ride today I'd probably post at $7K expecting to fetch minimum $6K with under 20,000 kms and that would be typical.

in my experience, a lot of first-time buyers do consider mods to be a reasonable reason for increased prices, especially in certain parts of the GTA

depends on the mods..
akra exhaust adds value
Chinese plastics, levers, bar ends and flushmounts with a scrape on the engine "from your shoe"- decreased value (most likely a dumped bike lol)

Funny you say that yet whenever i sell my bikes i always say the price is firm. When buyers try to knock down the price by 300 i say sure, im taking off the aftermarket pipe and giving you the stock one. Another couple hundred and im taking the levers, screen, damper etc...

And every time i got my asking price and all the aftermarket parts stayed on the bike...

That's fine and I do the same thing. But in my personal experience most mods don't increase the value of the bike from a resale perspective (ie, I wouldn't expect to be able to sell at an inflated price because I have a slipon and some other bolt on parts). There are exceptions of course but in general mods are a sunk cost unless you sell them off separately.

So you're telling me that bike a) 2010 gsxr 600 with 10k km all stock is worth exactly the same as bike b) 2010 gsxr 600 with 10k km, full exhaust, power commander, marchesini rims, ohlins shock etc.. ?
