Took me awhile to figure out what I needed.Congrats! Surprised it took so long to get one of their cars considering you already owned an X5!
ZF 8 speed, no DCT in the G87.Nice! Manual or DCT?
If I ever get another BMW, it would be a F87 M2.
BMW people are almost as insufferable as Harley/Porsche people with their model numbers.ZF 8 speed, no DCT in the G87.
Gearing is better in the auto and my wife has to use it a few times a year so, was an easy choice.
I was looking at F80s originally. But the ones with 60kms were not prices far off the G87. Seemed like an obvious choice if I didn't need the extra doors (I don't, I just preferred the look over the F82).
Happy to translateBMW people are almost as insufferable as Harley/Porsche people with their model numbers.![]()
I’ve always loved the smaller M cars. I still remember spotting a 1M near my parents’ place, and every now and then I catch myself daydreaming about picking up a used 2018–2020 M2.

E46 M3s are quite reasonably priced; less than a new Duc for sure. You might have spend a few $Ks more to get it right (fix the big 3 issues). I've had mine for 9 years, no major issues, just a handful of little nagging things. My favorite body-style was the E46 M3. Classic looks. Is on my Top 10 list of cars that would be in my garage if I had the means.

And also a Porsche 993 Turbo and a Harley-Davidson VRSCR...
Beautiful! My BIL has the same M2 in the same colour.Meant to post this as well

Check out the Lexus EV version of it. More polished and sexy like the original LFA except, ya know, EV.Been seeing a lot of this in my feeds:

Those days are gone. Emission and noise regulations have only ramped up.Haha, I just finished watching the Top Gear GR GT video and tacked on the end of it:

I like the looks of it, but the best part of the outgoing LFA was the engine, especially the sound... which Lexus got rid of...
I dunno. I'm not feeling the whole electric sports car thing. I feel so old.
I saw Long Way Up, and the whole vibe was about managing range, range anxiety and compromising performance... for range...
Unless huge strides get made wrt battery capacity, recharge times and infrastructure, EV and performance (yes, yes, instant torque... but... range) just seem to be at odds with each other.
They may come back...I read somewhere Trump may get rid of those silly emission requirements. Those days are gone. Emission and noise regulations have only ramped up.

True but that doesn't stop Trump from meddling. He pardoned at least one of the guys doing emission deletes on diesels.Dunno about that. Emissions standards in the US are state-based, not federal and the most restrictive regulation is California's CARB.
Also CARB isn't the only market that has strict emissions, safety and noise regulations. Another big one is Euro 6, so even if CA lowered its standards, the European market still has its own hurdles and hoops to jump through.
