14 days and counting. Heading to Tuktoyaktuk in 2 weeks, been on my bucket list for a couple of years. Planning on 3-4 weeks, weather dependent. Bike is all set up and ready to go other than an oil change. Total trip will be around 14,000 kms, with about 800 kms of gravel and potholes on the Dempster Highway. Can't wait to go for a swim in the Arctic Ocean! tuk.pngpic4dad.jpgpic4dad2.jpg

That’s awesome. Good luck and safe travels. Will you be posting updates here?

You have more gravel than that! Dawson to Tuk is 900km of gravel each way - so you’re more like 1800km on the loose stuff.

Sounds like an epic trip.

The gravel portions of all northern dirt highways get muddy and slick when it rains.

Looking forward to the ride reports - have a blast!

Enjoy, a friend of mine took his Multistrada to Tuktoyaktuk from Edmonton. about 5 years ago. His friend rode a 1090.

Would like him to chime in but he is not on this or any forum.

Let me know if you have ant questions and I will be happy to forward to him

Envious. My knees have much ruled out that length of trip.

I see your Chibougamau sticker. We passed through there taking the back way up to the JBR the second time.

Wow. I'm a little jelly.

Are you tenting or doing motels?

Are you planning on doing any scheduled maintenance on the bike during this ride? Oil changes, tire changes ?

I'm tuned in .

If you take a close look at the bike pictures, you'll notice I installed some highway pegs off the crashbar. I had my left knee replaced a couple of years ago and need to stretch my legs!

The plan is to camp the entire trip, unless we run into mechanical issues or consistently bad weather. I have a brand new set of Motoz Tractionator tires on the bike, I think they will last the entire trip, if not, I'll stop on the way back and get a replacement. I'll be changing the oil and filter before I leave. Again, will stop near Edmonton on the way back and do an oil/filter change. May take a spare filter with me, that gives me the option of picking up the oil and doing a Canadian Tire parking lot oil change.
