I've been trying to get them to stop sending me mail for people that don't live here. So far the only answer I got after emailing, Facebooking, and calling was either waste my time to keep sending it back to sender, or do what the delivery guy said which was to just throw them in the garbage. Seems like a bad idea when half of them say Government of Canada on them or have notes like, "Do not dispose!" I tried putting up signs saying to only deliver mail addressed to certain people on my mailbox but they just ignore it.
Also, if it's admail they won't cancel it unless the person that it's addressed to calls them. Which is stupid since I have no idea where any of those people live or who they are. Some of them aren't even addressed to a person but they won't cancel it unless someone by the name of "Resident" calls them to cancel it.
I personally think I should be able to have Canada Post or anyone else that leaves junkmail or mail not addressed to me in my mailbox or on my porch, or on my car for that matter, charged with littering. But my coworkers tell me I'm crazy for that idea.
Long story short, Canada Post doesn't care.
