Call to legalize lane splitting/filtering

I was filtering all weekend on Queen St. West. No hassles from drivers or cops.

Me too, been doing it on the Gardiner and downtown, *some* cops *seem* to be on our side thus far

Saw a cruiser rider pulled over on 401 for riding on shoulder of highway in traffic by OPP.

That's not filtering, that's being a moron....

That's not filtering, that's being safer....

Fixed.

I would probably still not lane split if they legalized tomorrow, way too many aggressive and bad drivers out there.

I would prefer to not put my life in a road ragers hands.

at least not right away until driver education would catch up for people to be expecting it.

Maybe if they put in laws about reasonable speed yadda yadda. Anyone here have solid Cali. Lane splitting experience

Sent from my my mobile using a strange app for damaged people

Even if they legalize it, I'll wait until there is a solid law to prevent door prizes before lane splitting. I'm sure the vast majority would start lane splitting though.

I didn't even know this was specifically illegal, I always thought if a cop sees you he has to charge you with something else like dangerous driving?

Most likely stunt driving

Most likely stunt driving

a few years ago, a user on here "4getmoney" or something like that, took the shoulder of the DVP for a very short distance to make it to the next off ramp from wherever he was and was hit with HTA 172, stunt driving

Can you please stop with the common sense. That **** isn't allowed on gtam

The idea should be that if traffic is moving slower than X then you're allowed to filter up to a maximum speed of Y. What those numbers are, I dunno. Traffic < 20, filter < 40? And to get the idea any traction it needs to be framed as a benefit to drivers

Exactly, what is the purpose of sitting in a 20 km backup for 2 hours if you can go 20-30 km per hour safely in between the stopped traffic?
