Buying gear at the spring show

I need to buy gear and I was advised that I can find good deals on everything at Motorcycle show in March. Just wondering if anyone has found this to be true or if I should buy me gear elsewhere.
Appreciate any advice :p

I would try stuff on and see what fits and buy it from online CANADIAN sites as they are usually cheaper.. I like www.canadasmotorcycle.com :D .. but if you find a deal at the show; I never have, then get it!

But, I'm really picky with my gear so yea.

I was wondering the same, this will be my first time. I need to pickup a new helmet among other things and was debating if I should wait for the show.

Thanks for the links guys, but I am I really concerned about fit (I am small and female) so I have been avoiding buying stuff online even though the prices are good. I need to try stuff on and I am out in Burlington, I don't think there is much out this way as far as well priced gear.

you have to really know your pricing there. You'll find that they are always blowing stuff out at 4000% off, but they don't tell you that they've jacked up the price to compensate.

That being said if you know your prices, sometimes you can get good deals. There will be tons of stuff to try on and get your sizes.

I'm a new rider (getting my M2 in May) and I've been slowly building up my gear. I found the winter show to be of great help and I'm pretty sure the spring one is similar. As others have said, it's a great place to go try stuff on and see what fits but they don't always necessarily have the best deals. Don't go there with the goal of buying everything you need in one day. Use it to find stuff you like and that fits you, if it's cheaper online (it helps to have a smartphone to do a quick price check on the spot) then write down the manufacturer, model and size and just buy it online later on.

hey, dont worry......im small too, im actually considered XS for gear. I found different gears from different brands, all it takes is time and try all around.

cheers

If you are smaller and slim you may want to consider prioritising your search by starting with the euro manufacturers as they tend to cut on the slim side then branch to the NA manufacturers such as Joe Rocket, Icon etc. I am slimmer and find that Alpinestars stuff fits me real well. Good luck

I'd say its hard to find a legit good sale there but honestly you never know, since you dont know your sizes exactly for online ordering might as well go check it out, try things on and remember exactly what size you are for which brand (diff brands fit differently) it'll be good since you dont know exactly.. which you need to know lmao

My wife and I spent an afternoon going through the discount racks at Royal Distributing. We got jackets, helmets and gloves for both of us, and boots for me for right aroung $600 including taxes. Her only complaint was that a lot of the girly stuff was more for appearance than safety. She ended up buying a Man's small Technic jacket.

go to gpbikes or royal distributing, try their gear on, take down the name of the manufacturer and size you wore (each brand is different) then compare deals online to deals at the motorcycle show when you go

Thanks everyone, I will check out stuff at the show, try it on and buy it somewhere else if the price is better. Still sounds like it is worth checking it out.
I am not small and slim, I am small and curvy (big boobs and butt) so fitting anything is tricky and euro sizes are def no go. I have heard there is some good ladies gear out there (for fit and safety), just have to find the right ones.

Online generally has the best deals. The post about jacking the price before the show for compensation is always true. You see boots for 40% OFF !, so you feel you have a good deal. You find the same boots online for a lower stock price, with an additional 20% off which turns out to be the best deal. Just look around online before you go, write down some prices and compare at the show. It might sound a little stingy but in the end you could be saying a few hundred buying gear.

If you're in burlington go check out Oakville Yamaha on third line just south of speers. They have a great selection of gear that other stores don't typically stock and the staff is great.

Pics and I can assist you further.

There is some killer deals online too but you gotta know what you fit into. Try some stuff in the stores and see if you can find online for a deal...

I am sure they got stuff for "curves boobs and booties"

+1
....Motorcyclegear.com
Canadasmotorcycle.com

I found the stuff at the shows to be mostly items they're clearing out that no one wanted in the first place.

I went to Toronto winter motorcycle show and picked up a Dainese leather jacket for a good deal.
Everything I was interested in I was cross checking and comparing online prices from sportbiketrackgear.com from my iPhone. If it was a better deal than what I could get from an online store in the U.S., I bought it.
