Bmw e30 - rear diff - hp?

Any idea what kinda HP a stock E30 series REAR DIFF will handle?

Any diff's that will swap over and wont cost a ton? Looking for something that will handle 200HP - 250HP (AT MOST) and won't cause issues.

Yes, there are high dollar options....but maybe something from a new gen can swap into it?

Coming from the Drift world I know a few guys running Chev LS setups on the stock setup. For the guys 400hp+ cryo treatment is typically more then enough.

E24 (6 series) LSD diffs were a popular option because of different gearing and LSD. As i remember the 318iS was also very popular because it had 4.10's (dont quote me on that ) and LSD.

a stock diff will take 250 all day long.

Why don't you get an M3 diff for that year?

I've known some of those cars to have subframe issues

chevy LS? You mean the 8 bolt rear? from like a silverado ? That'd be a solid axle....looking for something with a independent rear

LOL no they are running an LS series engine in their e30 on the stock diff.

no matter what unit you use, don't simply bolt it in.

Take it apart and make sure there are no issues that you're missing.

Building the stock diff from the ground up would be more than adequate, have it cryo treated, its cheap and the treatment works.

I dont want to use a E30 rear diff knowing that it won't handle 250HP, but if a LS series motor is powering stock E30 diff's then i'd be pretty safe.

any other suggestions for independent rear diff's that will handle 250HP that are easy to find/cheap?
