Bike Stolen :(

that sucks!!! my buddy had his r6 stolen from yonge/finch, but they found it after 3 weeks. Hope they find yours. It's funny how that is a rich area and gets the most bike's stolen from.

I guess R1timmay is out on bail

here it is.
honestly...what I want is these people caught arrested and charged
it's a crime ring when they go garage hopping...

that's a sweet looking ride, dude. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope they find it, intact...

So does anyone live in or know of any condo that actually welcomes bike parking let alone have special arrangements for bikes?

I know at my mom's Condo she allows the staff who ride (2 guards and a cleaner) and the residents that do to install anchoring systems on the walls of the parking units and also allow them to park their bikes in the bicycle room at their own risk (fob controlled). Staff keep theirs in the garbage room (only access is from above ground, cameras everywhere).

Its not really funny and actually makes perfect sense. Property crime doesn't happen in poor areas, since there's nothing worth while stealing. So criminals travel to richer areas to get what they need. thought this would be a no brainer

lol - that post is an example of the IQ of people these days, can't think for themselves on basic things.

So I have my bike parked in an area next to the stairwell and camera in my condo, and my girlfriend parks her R6 next to our car. Anyways, yesterday as we were getting into the car this russian dude drove by and rolled his window down and asked "oh, that is your bike?" and my gf said "yeah" and then he drove around to the dead end area of the parking garage. Didn't see him go into the elevator area but that doesn't mean much. Should I be worried?? Why would someone ask that? It's clearly our bike, it's in our parking spot. Don't think he was being nice and offering to get it towed if someone else was parking there?? Didn't say anything else, didn't say "oh! nice bike!" or "I ride too" or anything. Bike is still here so far..

This topic has been beat to death. There is nothing you can do aside from take normal precaution - alarm, chain etc. But even those are not a full deterrent - if they want your bike, they will get it. Make sure you have theft coverage, sleep more peacefully and hope for the best.

Or

Move into a house with a garage.

make that 7 tonight in the same area

walked to my garage tonight and bike was gone. Security footage from the condo shows a champagne coloured van/mini-van pull up. One guy out of the back, driver and passenger all get out, lift the bike and put it in the back, they drive off and done.

Called the cops and they said it's the 7th tonight.
I'm sure they won't be able to do anything about it. Apparently 32 division has a project that's investigating...who knows what will come out of that. Yeah, a bike plant would make a lot of sense.

Mine was a 2007 Kawasaki ninja zx-6r in black. You can tell this one is mine because there's white paint splatter in the wheel well.

HappySMP --- My building security confirmed today that a beige/light colour van was used to steal my bike. Likely the same that stole yours. Tapes are going to the cops tomorrow. Insurance offers is coming Monday. I'm hoping they dont try and screw me too much here.
