The frame is 16" wide and 8" deep clearance from the rod to the top of the base is 5".

That'd be ideal, except i don't think condos would let you drill into the floor...

Really, if you could get the top of a motorcycle hoist, put that chock on it, weld it all together...the theives would have to cut that bar somehow. Perfect if you could make it hard for a cutting wheel to get through (something that'll melt over the tool perhaps)?
 
WTF is 1/14" steel bar (1 1/4" maybe)?

That bar is held perfectly for you, a zip disk in a grinder and you would be through it in seconds.

Do they mean shackleless padlock?

What is a fixed lock that can't be picked? Isn't that a welded shut lock?

Why are the anchor bolts exposed, they should be under the tire.

The writeup is such crap, I would be amazed if the lock survived more than a few seconds in a determined attack. The concept Rob posted is so much better, it's not even funny (assuming they did a decent job with the design).

I've installed bicycle fencing in condo's before that required drilling anchors/bolts into the floor. I think it depends on the condo and how you present it.
Never hurts to ask and try, and if you have say 10 tenants vs 1 tenant that would like to have that installed, usually they'll listen. If it doesn't affect others, can be removed easily if you sell/move and you'll cover the costs of the install, I doubt they'd give you a hard time.

If anyone wants to give it a go and report back, I'm all ears. Few friends just moved into condo's and pretty much all asked to keep their bike's at my house. :D no complaints from me but I'm sure they'd be open to an option like this.

mount it to a big-*** piece of steel that you park on. something a good 4x8

Since there were other bikes near mine that were taken, I can only assume that as long as I live in a condo... I can only own an older, ragged sport bike. Looks like a rashed up CBR f4i is in my near future... Now need to wait for a Kijiji seller who doest think their 2001 sport bike is worth 5K!

So upsetting that I worked hard to buy a nice present for my self, only for it to be taken in less than a month.

Working with my insurance for the total loss claim and waiting until tomorrow before I call 32 division for my case officer.
 
Damn bro this sucks... Don't know what give's people the mentality of stealing. Anyways hopefully the cop's will find it bro. Keep us posted. By the way, do you have a pic of the bike or any specific modifications you had done to it just so the gtam community can keep an eye out in case they spot it.

What a beautiful bike! Ill keep an eye out in sites like kijiji and craigslist. Any specific modifications you installed? Muffler, etc... ?

By the way, do you remember the kilometers on the bike?

Sorry to be "that guy" but these bikes aren't getting moved within the gta, probably not even in Canada. These ******** are organized and we're on our own with no police help.

Don't understand how people can steal property of others and then sell it as their own and use that money on themselves. Don't they feel guilty at one point? I'd never be able to steal someone's stuff, let alone using stolen money to buy stuff for my self. I just won't feel right. There has been a number of stolen bikes lately in that area so I'm assuming as Mac stated, they are an organized crime ring. Hopefully they make a wrong move and get tracked down.

Rob - I know exactly the one you're talking about but for the life of me, I can't find it either. It was a cool design. I have to admit I was tempted to connect with them for a licensing agreement attempt. Things/life came up ...
 
There was about 15,000km on the bike.
Parts included a Akrapovic exhaust + midpipe (titanium), puig double bubble windshield and projector retrofit lights.
It was my first bike and I"ll miss it.

I just secured the security footage but I"ll hold on posting the video until I figure out some things on my side.

The solution to condo bike theft is pretty easy. Just have a bike only section that has bollards where only a bike can fit through, and then a long distance between the bollards and the bike only parking area... kinda like a long narrow hallway. Have cameras along the way. It would greatly deter thieves if they had to boost a bike and go... as opposed to just lifting it into a minivan. Furthermore, having a necessary IN/OUT fob from the bike area to open a separate gate would help too.
