Looking for something to wear under a race-suit and use for future track riding. I see a lot of CE2 strap on back armour in the $180-$200 range.

Does anybody know of anything cheaper? I have a couple of alpinestar jackets so would like a single protector that can easily work in both without having to worry about buttons/inserts etc. Therefore my requirements would be that it has to be completely strapped on (including over the shoulders).

Or should I just suck it up at drop $200 on a Forcefield L2 or Dainese wave?

I got the Forcefield Pro Sub 4 (or w/e it's called), love it. If you want a bit cheaper get the L2 Pro linked above.

I'm thinking of either the Forcefield L2 or the Alpinestar Track Vest...

Try Rider's Choice I believe they had a few Knox Contour back protectors (call first though). Knox Aegis is good as well.

Ive got the Knox Race back protector, and bought it locallly from Top Endz.

Its already saved my *** once. ( but not my collarbone)

I think I'll skip the alpinestar gear and get myself a Knox Aegis from GP tomorrow. The Forcefield L2 looks good but seems a bit too flexible and might allow for easier spinal movement (not to mention $50 more expensive)

If I can find the Aegis for a good price tomorrow, I'll likely pick it up.

You pay for what you get. Try them all out with your suit to see which one fits the best and is the most comfortable.
