As if you didn't have enough to worry about ...

as a policy advisor experiencing the reality of truly intense heat in an environment ill equipped...what step would you advise the goverment to take?

Those temps in the UK are significant because not only are they new records (broken within 3 years too) but they are further north than ever before.

Little known fact…the Champagne region in France has similar geology to the south of England since they were once part of the same ancient mega-continent. The conditions for growing Champagne grapes have shifted north over the years such that now there are champagne style (can’t call it champagne as it’s not from that area in France) vineyards in the south of England now apparently owned by some French farmers.

Their beer was warm before. Now it's piping hot.

Apparently in Roman times the UK weather was OK for wine makers. As the climate changed they switched from grapes to turnips.

Seriously, that is used by the anti-climate change zealots to argue that's it isn't fossil fuels causing the problem.

Yes the Holocene maximum occurred then and we should be dipping toward the next mini-ice age and were.
...then came coal etc.
and yes they are growing wine in Scotland.
even the Nordic states getting in on the warming

I'm not convinced by awards. Most seem to be highly correlated with how much entrants contribute. It makes sense Ontario does well at icewine as there isn't a lot of competition but much of the rest is mediocre (and VQA is basically a marketing scam).
 
I doubt that in this level of award. Magazine reviews yeah ....big awards would lose their cred.
