Anybody need some cellular data?

Anyone used Freedom mobile? How is the coverage while on road??

I’ve been with Koodo for decade, but their new US/Canada cheap plan isn’t available for existing customers. ($40/month) I’m paying $39/month now, I just want the US roaming option added.

Then I see this

My concerns;
- need stable good coverage on road. Koodo doesn’t give me issues, and seamlessly changes roaming networks so I can pay more if I use internationally. I use esims for roaming.
- no issues for loosing coverage in buildings, except elevators sometimes.
- have older phone for now, iPhone 11 so lte is fastest it goes.

Thoughts??
Public mobile (Telus) usually has a plan for 60gbish 5G of can/us/mx for around $40. Just need to keep an eye out. Can always jump to a new plan when a better deal comes along with no penalty.

My current plan with them;

Like @GreyGhost , I've been with Freedom for just over a year, signed up in December '24. My experience has largely been great, but I was coming from Telus, not Rogers (better out west but not as robust in Ontario), so that's my point of comparison.

On the whole, the switch has basically been invisible. I haven't noticed any functional difference, driving or in town. Granted, I spend 95% of my time between Hamilton , Kitchener and Toronto, so all places with good coverage. We've done a few camping trips, and coverage has been as good as my wife's Telus phone, if not better. Handset might play into that as well, I'm on a Pixel 9 Pro, she's on an S23+. I like not fussing about hooking into US towers at the border, though travel there has been a non-issue since the start of the 51st state nonsense. We also did a trip to Italy, and it was nice to not have to pay $15/day and have some time to sort out the eSim (Saily was great) and keep the package small because I knew I had a data buffer.

I've been happy enough that we just switched four other lines in our house over from Telus, which is cutting our bill in half. I also like not giving my money to Telus, Bell or Rogers, at least not directly. Quebecor is, I'm sure, far from perfect, but 'least worst' comes to mind...

(Cogeco has also recently started offering cell plans, and for very cheap, at least to begin with. But we didn't want to roll the dice with them until things have been up and running for a while... )

I'm also a 2024 Freedom rookie.
But, I hate using cell phones, so I'm on the $149/yr 30gb plan. I only used 2.7gb in my 1st yr (dec 30th). The phone works just like it did on Bell, never any issues.
Two csr's I've dealt with at their store were perfect, and assisted clueless me on setup, initially, and topping up a couple weeks ago.
One thing I like (don't know if it's other telcos do too) the price is locked in for life.......so get a plan you'll be happy with.

It won't go up but you are free to sign up for a different plan if you want. I am paying $35/phone. I doubt I will see a much lower price. I get more data than I need (something like 100gb/mo). I won't be surprised if I could get more data for the same price but it doesn't matter to me as I only use a few gb/phone.

as @Evoex mentioned. Check out Public Mobile. Its the same company as Koodo ie.Telus. and porting your number to them is easy.
I switched 4 of us from Koodo to Public Mobile 7 years ago.
Same network, same coverage as your Koodo. U.S. with Mexico plans available.
