A Christmas Story trivia.

Some of it was shot down by the Connaught streetcar barns, in a few takes you can see them running in the background. The flat tire scene was shot on Cherry Street down by the lift bridge. The Chinese Restaurant was an actual local T.O. spot. The flagpole licking scene was shot at a school in St. Catherines. The fire truck is still there I believe.
A classic.

Dear God , Gavin whatsoever signed on to make a mediocre movie and created a classic . Peter , the kid , is now a famous director . Possibly the best Christmas movie because it hits hard for so many of us , ****** cars , TVs that don’t work , relationships that are sideways and the campy Canadian mix . Chippewa fire truck ….

There was a serious sibling rivalry between my brother and me and in mid 1950's Manitoba he licked piece of steel in winter. Fortunately it was small enough to bring inside where my grandfather poured warm water on it as my brother howled and I smirked.

Many decades later some cousins took me to see the first Scrat cartoon where Scrat got his tongue stuck. I fell out of my seat laughing.
