The winters are long. If you have a garage and need something to polish and look at during the winter. Start up for your friends and listen to the sound track etc. A Ducati will do it every time. However, it really depends on how a bike feels when you ride it. Impressions and looks are one thing. Riding it is quite another.

I say you have to at least check out a demo or sit on the bikes you are considering to get a feel for what you have to live with on the road.

Love my Harley for around town. The Buell is my touring friend. Both stir the soul.

It's wonderful to be in the market for a new sportbike.

Personally, between the 848 and 750 I'd go for the GSXR, but for the same money, or less, you could pick up a new 1000cc bike in the States. For the street the extra torque of the litrebike is fun! I'd get a new noncurrent crossplane R1...

Why is it that no one mentions the crazy ergo's of the 848? It has a more aggressive riding position than an R6 (according to www.cycle-ergo.com anyway)

Are the rear sets adjustable on the 848?

It's amazing just how different everyone is body wise and comfort wise.
I find the 848 one of the more comfortable bikes I've ridden. Lol

No, rearsets are not adjustable.

The 848SF is comfortable as it's more upright the 848evo not so much.
I do love the torque on this bad boy though. Definetly more usable power on the streets....just don't get stuck in traffic that's all.

I like the 848/1198 ergos I find it more comfortable for longer than my SV650s. I usually take the Duc on longer rides.

I was talking about the EVO.

My SF is a 1098.

So true, the 1098 is very confortable for a SS, try the MV Agusta F4, the pegs are set so high that within an hour I have to stop and let my legs rest.

...yeah....I wanted a 848 EVO before too. Now every time I see one...I end up seeing SWAG247 on the 848 numbers and can't look at the bike with a straight face anymore lol

Do you see the same thing every time you look at a MV Agusta, Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche?
