The 650R is a really solid bike. Why don't you just swap out the bars for a sportier feel or something?
I agree, but the top end not super on the 650R and mine has over 60,000.

Um, how much top end do you need?? When I rode a 650R I was getting to speed quickly and with TONS more untapped power left over.
But then again Rodney, judging by your past posts it sounds like you simply want to try something different. If this is what will stop you from prematurely getting a litre-bike, then go for it. I just think it will be a let down for you.
60,000 km is not high mileage.
I did not have too much fun going from sv650 to zx6r on the street.. I should have gone to a litre or more i4 imo...
What you really want is this...Yea, this concerns me. I do want something that will thrill me, something with kick, more so than the 650R. Like others have suggested, a FZ1.

My 650R is running like a champ, but I'd like something sportier, but nothing SS for insurance reasons.
I can get a 06 ZZR 600 for $2800, should I go for it?
My wife has an '07 ZZR600. We both love it. I don't know what the hell people are talking about suggesting its not comfortable. Ten hours a day in comfort is easy on that bike.
The ZZR is a better built bike than the 650R in my opinion. I like the 650R but it seems to have cheaper components and a cheaper build quality. Nothing wrong with that but the ZZR is better.
There is a big difference between a parallel twin and an inlinde four in power delivery. I far prefer the inline four but it is a matter of taste, no absolutes.
And the price is very low, it seems to me.
