650R to a ZZR 600?

Nice. Any carburetor issues? How's maintenance on the carburetor?

No carb issues. I've only ever owned one bike that was not carbed. I haven't bothered balancing them yet but I do have a balance gauge and it isn't very hard to do. You don't need to be a mechanic to deal with carbs. Drain the float bowls periodically and check for crap in your fuel lines. If you do have any fuel flow problems they are easy to dissasemble and clean (i've never had any such troubles in 30 + years). Changing exhaust you may need to change the jets - again, not too tough to do.

Frankly fuel injectors are more foreign and intimidating to me. At least when a carburreted bike doesn't start I know what I can do to fix it. With FI I feel I have no option but take it to a mechanic. (Note that I have been told by a mechanic that FI is easy to work on too, I just don't understand it or have any idea what to do).

That's to the point... care to explain why no?

Lots of reasons from reading your other posts, but how about shouldn't it have already sold if it's really such a great deal, for a start.

Make a list of what you've done riding, what you liked, what you hated, and start trying that on your current bike. Learn what it can and can't do first. If you want to try track, then take a track course, drive there and use their bikes. If you want to improve your road skills, take a pro rider course, in the spring as a refresher.

How long have you had your current bike? Have you really had time to get to know it?
