    To aramid or not?

I picked up a pair or Resurgence denim, Pekev lined. They are CE2 rated for abrasion, and have hip and knee armour. They are quite comfortable. I haven't worn them in temps above 30c yet, but up to those temps, they don't seem that hot.

Bike meets such as LnL - during COVID 19. Your thoughts.

We saw it last month, most of the riders who attend or support such gatherings don’t have the bandwidth in their grey-matter to compute a list of rules. It’s tough for those who choose to be part of the solution to watch these things.

    H-D has a new boss

It’s an interesting choice. Puma is a marketing company, not a category innovator. He should do well with HD. They need someone to keep the marketing machine going and he will probably do it. The HD crowd have been drinking the Koolaid for years, give them a T-shirt buying experience that makes...

Group Ride Ignores ‘Groups of 5+’ and ‘Physical Distancing’

I drove past a big number of these riders on the 401 Saturday morning. They did not represent themselves very well. This point has soared far above the heads of many here and on FB. Comprehension is not the strong suit of many in that group.

    Will "Norton" live again?

Interesting, I was reading about Norton’s latest filing just this morning. This is good news. The legacy is far to deep to let fade away. Hopefully there is good things to come.

    a lapse of motorcycle insurance

This is insanity. Why are we forced to go to such extremes as buying a cheap bike and putting fire/theft on it just so we can show an insurer we have continuous coverage We live in Canada for crying out loud. Most of us don’t ride for 4-5 months.

    Getting ready for the season

A decent app to use to track weight loss, cardio and caloric intake is MyFitnessPal by under armour. I started using it a few months ago and it exposes a lot of weekness’s you may have in your diet. I was wondering why I wasn’t losing weight as fast I did previously. Then I started entering...

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

Absolutely a beast of a bike back in the day. Great to see one in great shape. I too like the dual rear shock bikes better, but the single shock/linkage was the new rech at the time.

    Foot wear

Full height thick leather for me. I spent to much time in the face plant forum on advrider reading stories about riders going down and losing a shoe, with their foot still in it. Mine are just short of a hard shell mx boot. I’ll deal with the crappy walking about part, or throw some shoes in...

    No-fault isn't working for motorcyclists

well, my life long friend who has been selling group policies for 30 years tells me otherwise. Since there is zero chance of having a conversation with you, I guess I need to bow to your greatness. World dumb, F3800RC smartest. the ignore button is a beautiful thing.

    No-fault isn't working for motorcyclists

Dude, you’ve got to slow down and listen to what he is saying. Employers can’t just “diminish” or cancel coverage without it’s membership knowing. If benefit packages change, employees are given some form of notice or warning. Even with 100% employer sponsored packages, they will notify you.

Anybody tired of the Teacher's Strikes?

Not at all, I know a CEO of a prominent consumer electronics company that we all know of, who ended up painting houses after his corporate demise. You are drinking the unions Koolaid.

Anybody tired of the Teacher's Strikes?

You are not alone, this sounds like any other corporate jobs at that salary level. People in private sector jobs deal with interpersonal issues, unruly colleagues, long hours, motivating team members, P&L demands, ROI demands, long hours, stressful deadlines, long hours etc etc. It’s called...

Anybody tired of the Teacher's Strikes?

Yes, the spin is crazy from both sides. I unfortunately know both types of teachers, in it for themselves and in it for the kids. Both of my kids have been through the system with mixed experiences from both types. I had a principal tell me in complete frustration that he needs to fire a...

Anybody tired of the Teacher's Strikes?

I completely agree, and isn't that part of sticking point the gov is trying to negotiate out of the current deal?

Anybody tired of the Teacher's Strikes?

I didn’t receive COL increases for 7 years in my last position, so I left (there were other reasons as well). Again, it’s not that difficult to do. There is websites and consultants that help with career change. People do it every day. I don’t get why teachers refuse to leave a job they are...

Anybody tired of the Teacher's Strikes?

You call it dropping out of the profession, private sector workers call it a career change. I’ve had three career changes when I didn’t like the direction or current situation. It’s not a big deal, really. For some reason union workers think the answer of “just leave” if you don’t like the...

Find a soft wall to bang your head against

read the last sentence of my post again and tell me I’m wrong. Although my guess is you don’t play with the big boys (old boys?) of the industry so wouldn't know the true workings of the lobby.

Find a soft wall to bang your head against

This thread has done nothing other than reinforce my hypothesis of the insurance industry in this province. Industry insider comes out swinging and refuses to reason or understand the other side of the argument. Seems like there is a lot to protect. Again, if it’s bad business, they would...
