If this is true then I would conclude that the quality of metallurgy in these part must be pretty poor. Diesels are low reving and if anything wears out prematurely then they must be crap.

Isn't this one of the Ducati models that has a plastic gas tank made by Acerbis? They supposedly have a tendency to warp out of shape because of the alcohol in our gas. There was a big lawsuit in the U.S. and Ducati lost but only had to replace the tank with the same thing (which will warp again).

Does anyone have any experience with the service dept. at this place? Positive or negative?

What about getting it safetied with the speedometer/odometer in miles instead of kms? When you try to sell it will this be a problem?

The 900's aren't that easy to sell, everyone wants the 1200. But I think they had most of the bugs out of them by 2007 (except the drivebelt). However I was interested in one that had a broken drivebelt on order and it took 6 weeks for the Harley dealer to get it.
