Anybody know the used bike market in Vancouver?

Im bikeless right now in TO but am moving to Van in July. Ive looked on Kijiji and Trader.ca, and the used bike market in Vancouver seems very thin. Im worried that if I wait until after I move Im going to have poor choices of bikes out west. I can buy one here but it will probably layer on an...

What would you do for a commuter?

Im itching for a sport bike and am moving to West Vancouver where my commute will be about 23km, half on Sea to Sky and rest through Stanley Park and city streets. Would you get a Ducati 848/899 as a commuter? Ill have covered parking at work and a sweet garage at home, but for sure it'll get...

    Leslie and Lakeshore

Be very careful traveling through this construction riddled intersection. The westbound lanes are CAKED with thick greasy mud. Thankfully my bike was straight up but if you get a green and you are traveling through there at any speed, with any lean, you will go down. It was SLICK. Like ice. My...

Leaning Curves RRRev it? Anyone done this?

I did their foundations course and think that I would benefit from some on road instruction: I dont want to create my own bad habits. LC used to offer "Street Proofing" rides but appears to have stopped those and now does RRRev Its instead. Its cheap - wondering if anyone has done it...

Emergency breaking - How not lock up the rear?

Aside from heading to a parking lot or an abandoned road and letting'er rip, what tips do you guys have? Ive had to hit the brakes pretty hard a couple times from 80ish kph on my non-ABS Duke (which has amazing brakes). I seem to be better with the front than the rear, but the rear (and...

Do you carry original ownership with you?

I have mine (originals) in a zip lock bag in a pocket, but over time these will take a beating. Id like to put photocopies in the storage but I think that we need originals on the road (at least ownership), right? Im not going to keep the original ownership in the storage of the bike. How do...

    Thoughts on KTM 690 SM?

Im mostly thinking out loud, but despite how well my WR250X is working for me, Im lusting for a KTM 690 SM or a 690 Duke (2008-2010). I am looking for a city bike - 100% on the road with 80% of that riding on city streets and 20% on the Gardiner/DVP. I would love to get it on a track, but ONLY...

    Looking for a 2009 or 2010 KTM Duke 690

I hadnt planned on picking one of these up until later in the summer, but they're not easy to find so let me know if you would part with yours. It could take me a while to track one down! Orange/Black preferred but I like the White/Black too.

Question - SA Helmet on a Motorcycle?

Thanks in advance all. I think that there are minimal differences between a motorcycle helmet and one used for car racing, and Im just thinking about loud with this, but is it a bad idea to use a car helmet on a bike? I have an approved bike helmet (Icon Variant for my supermoto) but Ive got a...

Any road going MX/SM riders take the "creative" route home?

Wondering if any of you deviate from the roads in the downtown TO core or close to it to bypass the gridlock? What are your tried and true traffic destroying tricks?

So they are going to start charging for Motorcycle parking downtown?

http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/viewAgendaItemHistory.do?item=2013.PW25.11 Seems that the City is moving forward with designated motorcycle parking spots as well as a license based parking for a fee system. Anyone have more insight? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pay-by-plate_parking

Hello from a soon to be 2 wheel commuter!

Hi all - Im new here! I work downtown Toronto and live less than 10km east. I currently drive to work but am looking to put an end to the crazy cost of parking downtown - and since scooters/motorcycles park for free, getting one seems like a no brainer to me! I wrote my M1 awhile ago and plan...
