same connector that runs lights , runs fan, so with the fan not running it overheated. A cool down and some h2o and I rode home. Thanks Keith and Scott for the brief ride and help. Just another minor glitch on the two wheel road.

My bike is back from its make over (new bars/risers from Apex USA to replace the cheap Chinese Danmoto ones that snapped off, Penske rear shock and redone front forks bought lightly used last fall, repaint of the worst of my scuff marks and a new sticker for the exhaust) all done at my friends...

I have a third very close up photo of the break ends that exceeds my upload limit but if someone is a curious metallurgy type I can send it via pm.

I like the video it reminds me of my ride home lol. A tripod on the back that would give you that over the shoulder view might be worth a try.

Last winter (18 months ago) I decided to raise the handle bars on my 03 R1. I did my research ordered a set that promised to be of aircraft grade aluminum. I put 2500 ks on the bike last season of very tame riding.New tires last week meant I could finally twist it up a notch or two. This morning...

I'm not much of a Port Dover kind of guy (never been there on the 13th) but I would be happy to ride along with somebody who is going and wants company. (Any excuse to avoid work on a sunny (potential) riding day)

    Anyone ride through rain storms?

Good rain gear and an electric vest have carried me through massive prairie thunderstorms that included hail. For the hail or a downpour so heavy that you lose most visibility then you are probably at risk of hydro planning so wait it out under some shelter. If you are warm and dry your brain...

    MotoGP 2012

According to Stoner the severe front end chatter required so much muscling to control that by the end he had developped serious arm pump I can't understand why anyone still watches Moto GP on tv rather than via the Dorna /MotoGP website. It costs about the same as one movie a month during race...

Can u trust clip links over rivet?

I tried a link when a rivet was not avaiable, as a stop gap measure near then end of a very long road trip. Later that day while passing a pickup at 145 kph the chain came apart at the clip. One end wrapped itself around the rear wheel and sprocket and locked it up solid so it no longer turned...

    replacing handle bars

Last year I put taller bars on my R1. I bought no names from china and had to source new brake lines and a clutch cable. A kit with all the bits you need would have been quicker and easier in the long run and not much more expensive

    New Rider

Old squid (soon 63) on a 2003 R1. Motorcycling is still the most fun you can have with clothes on. At 60 mph / 90 kph blue jeans last three feet/one meter when sliding along on pavement. Being able to dish out the punishment before conviction is fascism.
