Looks like a good solution, but if someone wants to actually replace their grips because of a bad element, Oxford sells their grips separately from the controller. Some bikes use the same connector and are plug and play. Otherwise, it's easy enough to splice the OEM connectors from the old grips...

The one nice thing about my MDX is that the TPMS system works with aftermarket sensors I got from TireRack and didn't need any programming - the car can tell by the distance which wheel is at which corner.

Definitely fight it. You are legally allowed a small amount of tint on the front windows, so if they'll put it in writing with your year/make/model/license plate and preferably VIN, then you should be able to get this thrown out in early resolution.
