Shipping motorcycle from Montreal to Mississauga

I'm looking at a bike and need to sort out logistics since my MDX has problems (as usual). I requested a quote from TFX International - anyone have any experience with them?

Alternatively, anyone passing through Montreal interested in picking up the bike for me for a fee, or can you recommend other options?

I used them last summer.

Pricey, but very professional. All logistics and communications were handled with 100% professionalism. The bikes were handled and loaded with care and respect. Would totally use them again.

Being a larger company, they have regular runs across the country and into the US. When you give them a window for shipping, they'll get you on the appropriate run to arrive at your destination in time.

The primary reason we used TFX was that we live out in the sticks. I did put up a request on uShip, but most companies don't come out our way during their runs between Calgary and Vancouver. One company offered to make a detour to come pick up our bikes, but their quote was higher than TFX.

For your shipment, lots of companies make the run between Montreal and Toronto. uShip will probably be your cheapest option.

I had very good experience shipping my motorcycles long distance and from some pretty out-of-the-way places. Shippers compete for your business instead of the other way around.
 
I've got an open trailer you can use if you figure out the RDX issue (or you want to tow with a much smaller car).

Not sure if you'd want to risk it though with whatever bike you bought to be pelted from Montreal -> Toronto behind a car.
 
Home Depot tall van ( 6ft. tall ) $140.00 a day no milage charge.
 
I don't think you can return a HD can at a different location.

The problem with uship is that it's hit or miss with different companies bidding for your shipment. So no way to know how good they are (or aren't). I did post just to get an idea pf prices and one guy offered to let me ride with him, which I would do if I didn't have to dog-sit for the next week. But short of that, I'll wait for TFX to reply with their quote unless I get my new (to me) SUV by the weekend.

Those vans are empty shells inside.
I'm sure you can find a mounting point for a few straps.

Keep in mind you will have to pay for fuel there and back, twice.

How urgently do you need to bring this bike home. ?

You can also get a UHaul trailer and transport the bike yourself.

Before it gets sold to someone else? Would have to pay fuel for my MDX if it was running properly. And the van is probably way nore fuel efficient.

Or a pickup for the same price as their smallest van.
