What did you do in your garage today..?

I was going to flush it with tap water then I thought, I will just use the new coolant and maybe drain next year instead of waiting two years. I thought about getting the concentrated stuff and adding my own distilled water. But I took the short cut and used the pre-mix. The manual stresses...

What did you do in your garage today..?

This makes sense. The engine drain plugs location is horrible, hence the hose removal. Also would be less mess. I think I will just drain the radiator every couple of years and refill that amount. That should be good enough. This coolant says 250,000 km change interval.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Thanks, I have a few of those and have had the washers roll away into the fastener eating garage floor. Thanks for the link, I would never have thought of F9 for hardware.

What did you do in your garage today..?

And different kinds. Flat ones, recessed ones. I wish they stuck to one fastener style . To take all those off there was a 5 mm hex, JIS screws (philips), and 10mm wrench. I thought I could do it in my sleep but messed up the order on the right side and had to do it twice. Amazing how with each...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Woops. Should be without any extra parts/scews left over. 😂

What did you do in your garage today..?

Looks like a good day to get some bike maintenance done. It has been too long since the last coolant change. Now I remember why I dislike that job. Almost all the Tupperware has to come off except the upper fairing. A pain to drain as the drain plug doesn’t get all the coolant and you have to...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

I might have tried that on my banana seat, high handle bar coaster when I was 10 and didn’t know better. 😂

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Here I thought jumping down 5 stair steps was rad. Holy smokes.

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Along the same lines but in Toronto. Have to admire the skills but that’s just crazy.

    Anyone here a cyclist?

It does look small but it is 26”. I think this bike is from 05. The kid gave it a beating but that frame is still holding up. The front shocks are starting to leak but I have them fully aired up and I’m not on the trails in the winter anymore.

Looking for a shop to patch a tire in 2025

Do you want it patched due to the location of the puncture or you don't trust plugs? If they remove the tire and decide not to patch it, are you able to them to keep the tire off the rim and patch it yourself from the inside?

    Anyone here a cyclist?

The winter bike is ready! I decided to buy a new wheel as a new axle and skewer were onto to cost $40 plus tax. Local bike shop had a 26” back wheel gathering dust and for $99 it was mine. It took me 5 seconds to take it as the old wheel had all loose spokes to deal with too, might still try to...

    Rear brake failure

Were the bake line connections to the master cylinder and caliper tight? Wonder if they just reused the washers instead of new ones when you had it serviced (not that they would loosen those, should be just the bleeder)?

    Rear brake failure

Since there appears to be no fluid near the caliper or along the brake line, I wonder if it is up in the master cylinder and it is taking air in when the plunger pushes the fluid down and air gets sucked in when the lever is released.

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Woops, sorry 26" wheel, and I am short, but the summer ride is a 29er. The winter bike was the kid's downhill bike, that he left here when he moved out. Soooooo why wreck the summer bike with I can abuse the 40 lb (for winter traction) behemoth. It is a Specialized Big Hit.

    Anyone here a cyclist?

The idea crossed my mind. The front wheel is at least 15 years old and no problem. The rear wheel is 4 years old, and I must say I neglected it last year, as I usually take the wheels and lubricate everything after washing due to the road salt abuse. Anyone has a used 24" rear wheel lying...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

One of things I like about a mountain bike is the more upright sitting position and less weight on the wrists. I also have those little "bull horns" which helps when climbing or pushing hard. Decided to do some maintenance on the winter bike, and noticed the rear spokes were all loose! Couldn't...
