Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Thanks! I’ll also have to replace some copper pipes with something else as they’re against the wall and will need to be moved away.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Any real benefit of the one you linked versus the one I've used before? https://www.homedepot.ca/product/dricore-r-23-25-inch-x-23-25-inch-insulated-subfloor-panel/1000788120 I've got maybe 75-100sqft of the stuff to use. Getting sick and tired of looking at our garbage basement so will be...

    COVID and the housing market

My buddy does this adjacent to his property near their cottage in Prince Edward County. Half the land is his cottage, the second half is rented to a farmer for use as he sits fit. He plants whatever he wants, and pays a minimal fee to the owner annually but it is way under market rate. Works...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Interesting. Let’s see what the manufacturers come up with deal with this….as they’re very crafty. In the end I doubt this will benefit the consumer.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Let's hope so! And I hope it's the TOTAL price before tax...because it's easy to list a car at 49,999 and then crank the options to go to 65k or so...but still within the 'list' price of 50k.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

EV rebates are back! https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/carney-dropping-ev-mandate-introducing-new-emissions-standards-9.7075302 More money on fire and car prices to crank up again for any qualifying cars (5k for EV and 2.5k for PHEV) - need to be under 50k CAD (if not built in Canada).

    COVID and the housing market

Developers will buy when convenient, hold until convenient, and build when ideal conditions are coming up. Many developers buy farms, commercial properties / lands and just rent to the owners until such time as they need the land. I've read it's happening tons for farm communities where the...

    COVID and the housing market

Wow... I've heard of this happening, and can see it recently in our areas where houses have started selling...but for WAY under what they were listed for an extended period. The sellers of the house are fixated at 1.6M for their house...we're fixed at 1.5M max as that's what that house is...

    Cheap smart phone

It’s Costco…if it sucks you return it. As for phones and her use case any run of the mill 2-3 generations back phone will do the trick if she’s open to used. I typically buy iPhones 1-2 generations back because new phone pricing is insane.

    Looking for Wingmen

Just for kicks I looked into these models and WOW...so many features, variations, and wild pricing from super cheap...to stupidly expensive (to the non-baller club). Beautiful bikes, but so many options.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Honestly I didn't know I could install grommets into it, and I'm sure they'd be happy with that option. Will have to look into the methodology first to confirm as I don't want to ruin the banner. They also said they can buy a different banner with grommets...but that just seems wasteful.

    Where to get a puppy?

Lucy has been great at 2 months with us now (6 months old) but she’s getting testy with me only. I so much as give her a command or NO! and she’s on and on yapping at me and nipping. Almost like a nagging partner or back talking child. Shes playful, but getting annoying when she’s testing and...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Another quick one for the brain trust here…. Trying to figure a way to secure a vinyl (or similar) banner to an exterior brick wall. Not sure I can use anchors (banner doesn’t have grommets so could tear it, and owner doesn’t want to drill into the brick. There’s something there already but...

    Vos Motors?

My recommendation would be to call them and ask point blank whether the bike is available. Once you have that confirmation, make the trek over to check it out in person and make a deal if the numbers work for you. Unfortunately beyond that...not much you can do outside of getting someone to...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Best way to insulate / hide this exposed wall? Kevin did some repairs and I haven’t seen any water / moisture since we moved in but if we’re updating the laundry the exposed wall is the first thing to be done. Thinking of gluing 1” rigid foam panels and in between them have a 2x4 for...
