The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

I wonder if insurance covers you if your prick kids steal your car and wreck it? 9 & 11 yo kids stole a parents car, did burnouts, ran from the cops, crashed it and ran from the cops again. No charges as they are less than 12. Link looks like it may not work. " (LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP, ON) -...

So it's that time again....winter pasttimes?

Offroad instead of onroad riding ups the exercise substantially.

Site performance is quite poor today

For a bunch of days this week, complete failure to load. Just a timeout. Same on multiple devices/operating systems.

    Where to get a puppy?

Fred is shooting blanks now so stop in on the way to the cottage sometime. They can roll around. He loves dogs but is a bit much for some that don't appreciate his full attention.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Some municipalities have competent staff and have their act together. Others make high school kids look mature and competent. Given the level of stupidity I expect in a municipality, my price changes quite dramatically as I know I will be wasting many hours. Fwiw, west of Toronto seems to be...

Those buyers got lucky. Rotted away in six years and builder pays. Rotted away in seven years and buyers pay.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Fwiw, I'd put up a 2x3 or 2x4 wall and have it out from the block. No need to waste money on 2x6. Leave a picture of the before situation pinned to a floor joist by the furnace so the next owner has some idea what is going on in the walls.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I've seen some that had old decaying rolls but they were pre-construction drawings and only lightly related to as-built conditions.

You can ask but for an 80s condo, that is approaching a miracle.

Does Toronto actually have a plan?

He dropped out with a predicted 4%. Deadline to dropout and not be on the ballot was weeks ago. Drop out after the deadline and all your votes go in the garbage.

Banging on the drywall side gives you a good idea of basic construction. Drywall laminated to concrete sounds much different than on metal studs. You can also calculate thickness of the wall by measuring where you can (like a survey). Laser makes that fast and easy. That gives you more info on...

Does Toronto actually have a plan?

$200 and 25 Toronto citizens that are willing to put their name and address on your submission. I don't like elections to be purely about money but something like $5K and you get it back if you get more than 10% of the votes seems like a good compromise.

Does Toronto actually have a plan?

Here is apparently the Toronto Ballot. The election process is so broken. Two people that might win and 48 people polluting the ballot. Maybe something like using advanced polls to narrow the election ballots down to five or less is in order. Obviously this isn't just a Toronto issue. What do...

My neighbour sold one running with a safety for about half that this summer.

What did you do in your garage today..?

So it made the clutch arm longer? Be extra careful with slack setup now. With the same cable motion and less angular motion, the clutch may remain partly engaged even when the lever is against the bar.

latest on the new Safety Cert Drive On program...

I am not a mechanic but that looks passable. Location isn't terrible. Angle isn't terrible. Lights have some size and distance. It has a plate light.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I suspect the Volt sees a lot of almost empty and almost full too. Those are the worst conditions for the battery. Most BEV's can quite comfortably hang out between 20% and 80% for almost all of their charge cycles.
