Not sure is your GS is the same, but my RT has a "Comfort" setting on the ESA that'll give you more ground reach, a nice cushy ride on your heated butt. That's if you decide to ride on pavement every once in a while of course.

I agree with this. On the major divided highways everyone's travelling in the same direction with no intersections to worry about where cagers can make left turns in front of you, or into you. Ride either ahead or behind vehicles in the adjacent lanes as much as you can.

There's been some talk on the RT and GS forums of the TFT screens being stolen/ripped off bikes in the UK. I just assumed it was vandalism but now I know they just want to watch Netflix.

While I've got some time on my hands, I'm working on a design concept for a Senior's GPS. It will give you turn-by-turn directions to wherever you want to go. Upon arrival at your destination, it'll tell you why you wanted to go there in the first place.

I think after a year and a half you're still in the "on vacation" stage. This too shall pass. At some point you'l find your real retirement routine and less anxiety and dare I say "guilt?"

I can give you experience from my perspective of riding for nearly 60 years and up to 20,000 km on this RT on another thread or PM but to summarize, I couldn't be happier. It is the complete bike. Now back to my original question.......

The 10,000 km that was performed in the spring wasn't representative but from multiple 10,000 km services on my previous R1200GS I seem to remember in the $500 range. Although a valve clearance check is performed, they seldom need any work as the the engine design and manufacture is well developed.

I purchased a 2019 BMW R1250RT from Endras and had the 10,000 km service performed there early this year just before they went out of business. The bike is nearing the next service interval of 20,000 and I'm thinking my options for service and warranty work in reasonable distance are BMW Toronto...

I had some custom made by the hearing department at Costco. Reasonably priced, worked well for me and comfy.
