Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I gotta say the up front cost of any new car (ice or ev) is discouraging. And used ev can also be either high cost or battery degradation concerns. They maybe unfounded but, still lingers when considering something different from the usual. Our auto repair shop that handles our oil changes...

Agreed! A sharp insurance adjuster can deny a claim very easy. And most times folks get away with it until something happens and test the logic and rational.

The coverage does allow for road tests and anytime you take a vintage machine out for a ride, it’s a test! Just rebuilt the top end and doing a break in, seating brake pads, just trued the wheel etc. Why am I 200 kilometres away from home? Those tire balance beads didn’t seem to work as...

When your motorcycle becomes a "vehicle"

I’ve still got a full time job and it changes over time. Presently I’ve got business meetings in the GTA and thought it would be ideal to ride. It might be a little more ambitious than I thought. I could be continuous highway speeds on a stand bike (the R80) makes it less pleasant and a bit...

    Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

Anyone participate this year? I know GTAM supports ride for sight. Have to say this was my first time and quite enjoyed it. Hundreds of countries participated around the globe on the same day raising funds for men’s health. Niagara Region raised over $9k

With a computer flash of the ZX4RR, that little 4 is worth a grand to insure each year to keep a smile on your face. I’m hoping for someone to pour their money and effort into their recent CB1 barn find and sell it to me just because.

    Suzuki s40

You’re still young so get what ever floats your boat. The S40 has a good following. Great boulevard cruiser and taking the young ones for ice cream. Probably easy on insurance and upkeep. For around the $2k to $3k range, there are plenty of selection of all kinds in good shape. Not just S40...

Older riders or a question for the collective...

BMW K1200RS is $890 annual premium with Desjardins. 56 years old and clean driving record. The R80 is $50 less a year, less than half the HP, 800 cc vs 1200. I don’t think I gave them expected kilometres ridden a year.

    Did you exercise today?

Better half would always tease me about my unwillingness to stretch or yoga. Meh! Ride, wings, beer and bench I’d say! (And not necessarily in that order) Now, I truly enjoy it and work on my balance as well.

    Can am canyon adventure trike

Three wheel tracks for off road isn’t ideal. The more I think about it, the more I’d prefer a quad. I’m sure it will sell just fine and have a lot of happy owners. More options are better. Even when those options don’t appeal me.

    Did you exercise today?

I get the appeal of healthier living and how it can develop better habits. Been going to the gym consistently 3 to 4 times a week for about an hour first thing in the morning. Learning as I go. Sprinkle in a bicycle ride or walk along the beach. I’ve become mindful of what I’m eating and...

    R1300 triple black

I’m sure in the wild it looks much different. From those pics, it looks like a Lego constructor series set. With panniers it could get mistaken as a shipping container.

What is your Budget for a Bargain Find?

Over Easter I pulled the trigger on a K series BMW. Mature owner downsizing his stable as he battles cancer. It’s been ridden and well cared for and comes with a bunch of farkles. FJR, Concours, VFR and a few others were in consideration. The ADV style hasn’t appealed to me. At least not...

    2025 Royal Enfield Bear 650

Very nice and look forward to a check in review after a few more miles and time on the saddle. I get a Facebook feed of an east coast dealer that promotes RE and this specific model caught me eye. I’ve also watched Adri’s vids on the his RE 650 twin and appreciate the feedback on the rear...

Duty Free Store and Canada Custom

To answer your question, yes you can. If travelling together (2 or more) and the total amount of the purchase doesn’t exceed the total personal amount, you are good to go. Just ensure you declare it like that and you won’t have any problems. If your travel companion claims nothing and you say...
