Older riders or a question for the collective...

Be careful with those vintage policies, some are very specific that your rides are connected to shows and meets - Sunday romps thru the countryside, commuting to work, and day rides are not covered on my $125 policy.
The coverage does allow for road tests and anytime you take a vintage machine out for a ride, it’s a test!

Just rebuilt the top end and doing a break in, seating brake pads, just trued the wheel etc.

Why am I 200 kilometres away from home? Those tire balance beads didn’t seem to work as well as I thought but, maybe it’s the steering head bearings? Had to give it a good run to diagnose!

No doubt there is fine.

Agreed! A sharp insurance adjuster can deny a claim very easy. And most times folks get away with it until something happens and test the logic and rational.

2010 R1200RT full coverage for $750/yr, was $650/yr liability only till I had the bike appraised. 49, riding 21yrs, living in Stoney Creek.
