Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Re: Police State Canada 2010 and the G20 Summit So sad but does seem to be the way it works now. On the flip side, "suicide by cop" is also something our wheelchair bound friend might have considered and stabbing a cop is a surefire way to accomplish that. If he indeed did throw the knife down...

Re: Police State Canada 2010 and the G20 Summit No, not at all. But 19 links?! A bunch of which are are junk, the best 3 would have made your point. I shouldn't get near a keyboard when I drink, I just get mouthy. Post what you like man, who am I to say.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Re: Police State Canada 2010 and the G20 Summit Read or watched? I must have time on my hands cause I just watched them all. 1/3 to 1/2 of them are nothing more than local TV stations pumping up a minor incident. The rest might have some merit if proven in court. Just because something is...

How to save money in 2011

Fantastic! Keep 'em coming. Starbucks, I love their coffee but once I added up what I was spending for my two cup a day habit, over $1000.00 per year, I started taking a thermos. Now it's $200 a year. When I need new snow tires I buy them in the spring at 30-40% off. Insurance Hotline, that...

How to save money in 2011

Thought it might be interesting to start a thread about money. We all spend too much and certainly we all get charged too much. What tricks, plans, strategies, offers, deals have you found or use to keep costs down? These could be practices that you have used for a long time or just found out...

Re: Police State Canada 2010 and the G20 Summit What a pair they are, and I'll put money down that in few years Blair will be throwing his hat in the political ring as well.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Re: Police State Canada 2010 and the G20 Summit Yes, there has always been a certain level of us/them and that's understandable , but remember when we were kids, Cops were a force for good. Great respect was paid to them and with that came leniency and on the spot judgements, usually in your...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Re: Police State Canada 2010 and the G20 Summit You really think so? Sure there are a few here that hate cops coming or going, but most of what I read here is an anti-bad police attitude, which is a good thing isn't it? Wouldn't it be better to root out that 3-4% (hopefully it's no more than...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Re: Police State Canada 2010 and the G20 Summit Most cops (and I do know 2 retired from the TPS) will tell you most of what they do is drive around. I'm not saying that is a lot of fun, it's probably boring as hell. But last time I looked, most of us are bored with our jobs. The difference...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Re: Police State Canada 2010 and the G20 Summit We pay the police very well for the small amount of work they actually do. It is not too much ask that it be done in a professional manor and to standards that have long been in place. The real work a cop does is judge what is an appropriate...

Re: Police State Canada 2010 and the G20 Summit One TPS cop has been charged, assault with a weapon in the Adam Nobody beating from the G20. It's not much but it's something. Watch the evidence be inconclusive.

Hey 2smokewilleh just found your rebuild thread, beautiful. It turned out well. I just bought a 1975 T500 but it needs alot of work. How did you split the crank? Did you have to buy special tools? I have read that it is something that has to be done by a machine shop. I have re-built a few...

    Another new 250 - Suzuki TU250

+1, but at the same time, why would anyone pay that kind of coin for a new bike when you can have virtually the same bike that was built 20 yrs ago for a 1/5 the price? There are all kinds of restored bikes for sale. This cult of new I will never understand.

Oil change before or after winter ?????

It's your bike to start up whenever you want. But as stated a few times above you are not doing the engine any favor. An engine is made to work, idling is not work. It takes along time for an idling engine to come up to a working temp. and all that time blow by gases are building up and...

Oil change before or after winter ?????

Before, but I also like to seal up the intake and exhaust not only to keep the critters out but also to keep the engine from breathing in moisture during temperature changes.

Thanks MotoStark, F800ST is what I'm lusting after. I have seen the punishment that Teach gives these bikes and they come up smiling.
