    Question concerning turns

I remember being scared of this too.. way back in the day! Practice, practice, practice. Go to a parking lot and practice. 8 years later, I love coming in hot before the turn, downshifting, slamming on both brakes so my back tire skids a little.. weeeeeeeeee! Slow in, fast out ;)

    Ticket Vs. Court Date

No. You have to file for an 11b and it's paper work. It's not as easy as the ticket getting thrown out because it's been 11 months. You have to determine yourself if you have a reasonable case for delay of trial. I don't understand why people think it's so easy because really, it's not. You...

Cracks in the tread of my tires

What's the DOT number on the tire? Specifically the last 4 digits, that will tell you when that tire was manufactured and if it's recent (within 5 years) then it definitely wasn't taken care of as Brian P mentioned. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=11

    New helmet design: very cool

Modular helmets exist already so I'm not sure what everyone is freaking out about. Plus this hinge is at the rear unlike present modular ones where it's in the front! They're also looking for DOT and ECE certification so if it gets both those safety designations, I'd definitely get one.

    QEW Toronto bound

People get scared when they're too close to the car beside them. Their first reaction is to rest their foot on their brake even if they aren't applying it. The guy behind sees brakes lights, he actually brakes and voila. Traffic. I've seen a guy in a lane with no one in front of him.. the...

    Toronto to NYC advice please

Hey Murphy.. I have the route for you!! I did this trip a few years ago with my YZF-600R and this kind member on another forum plotted the perfect route with no traffic, tolls and excellent scenery with beautiful twisties! It only took me 7 hours (I averaged about 80mph) and gassed up three...

Thought bike was going to melt!!

My VFR800 goes up to 104 and the fan kicks on.. drops to about 98 or so and then stops. What's the big deal? That's within spec.. and I'm sure the Honda engineers know a lot more than we do when it comes to designing the bike and why the fan kicks on at that time.

    Hit & Run

Jane and Rutherford you say? That intersection has 4 cameras pointed in to the middle of the intersection. I don't know why, but it's only that intersection that has 4 cameras. You can see one of the cameras in the video.. it's in the middle.. really high up between the two lights.

Suggestions/Help choosing a middle weight sports bike

You're correct. Honda lowered the VTEC engagement from 6800rpm to 6400rpm. Honda also went with clear corners instead of the amber coloured all around. VFR's are truly the best all around bike. Here's mine, looking all sexy with the rear pegs removed. And here it is all done up ready to...

Disobey stop ticket, old address on ticket after address changed at MTO any case

Uhh.. points don't mean anything to insurance. They are only for MTO purposes. Insurance cares about convictions. A disobeying stop sign offence is a conviction that will go against your driving record.

    Insurance

All those are factors, but more importantly are your experience and postal code. There's quite a few bikes that are black listed on several insurance companies. Super sport bikes with either a high theft rate or a high death rate due to inexperienced riders. Cruisers and the sort will be much...
