    Speed Kills Your Pocket Book

Alberta's population is about the same as the GTA (3.6 million vs. 2.8 ) , but covers a far greater area, that's why there's no congestion.

GOPRO Hero 3 Black Edition $329.95 from Apple

The latest version of the iOS app allows viewing previously shot video and photos. I think the firmware update is required as well. Agreed about battery life, about 2.5 hours with the battery pack. The app is good for a quick check of the framing, but has about a 5 second delay.

Roofs... Who knows about them or had one done recently?

We had our roof done a couple of years ago by a reputable local installer. I watched them run the magnetic sweeper around the property three times, but I still find the occasional nail!

Loud pipes save lives, and the front brake is dangerous to use! Ah, what fun antiquated thinking is... (Petition NOT signed)

Cleanest solution for storage for a sport tourer??

My E52 topcase stays dry, my E35 panniers not so much... I leave my luggage on all summer to clear some basement space, and I frequently find a little water in the panniers. condensation maybe?? When I'm using them for touring I just toss my stuff in garbage bags. The bags are well made, and can...

Camper question? To hybrid or not

We have a 10' tent trailer, and the furnace works fine to warm the bunks up. It's a little noisy, but when you're cold, who cares? If I were looking at hybrids, I'd try to find something where only one end pops out to speed up set up and tear-down. We've been caught in flooding conditions, and...

Actually the bridge is never manned, the Lock crew operate it from a kiosk adjacent to the bridge. During the navigation season there are staff at all locks 24/7.

In pounds, a "short" ton is 2,000 lbs. I was a little off, the total span and counterwieght are 770 tons, so the counterweight alone would be 385 tons. The bridge is a rolling bascule. Due to the heavy and slow operation, no ball bearings, all the bearings are plain bearings...

I take one day off work, and all the fun happens. I think Bridge 1's counterweight is about 450 ton (900,000 lbs, 410,000 kg). I'll check and see. The road gates are hollow fiberglass 2x4's, designed to break on impact. They would have scratched the tailgate a little bit. If he had pulled...

    Got rear-ended 2.0

My '05 DL650 was written off when I got rear-ended and the frame cracked. When I bought the '08, I added an Addmore lighting lightbar and the GIVI E52 topcase kit to the back of my bike. I also added a set of LED's that wrap my turnsignal bulbs so they act as running and brake lights when...
