    I can't decide between 750 and 1000 :(

Tires shmires. Run it with newer multi-compound sport touring tires and you'll be fine. 10,000km+ out of a rear and more grip than you can use on the street. The days of the 1000cc bikes being big heavy boat anchors that don't turn are gone. The extra angular momentum of a bigger motor spinning...

What kinda boots do you wear?

I was simply raising a possible concern some may not have considered. Ride safe. And may the warm dry roads be here very soon.

    Rider Choice

As is the case anywhere I am reminded, always do your own due diligence and do not solely rely on the sales people behind the counter without asking 3 times! They may be well intended but... My case: after weeks of contemplating laying out the significant cash for a pair of Daytona Evo Sport...

What kinda boots do you wear?

It is not the impact. It is the bending upwards! It has happened to a few people. At work I suggest it is a downard impact that the toe cap protects a person's toes from which is good, or some sort of direct impact but less forecfull than a 100 KM + impact and upward bending of the toes that...

What kinda boots do you wear?

Steel toe boots (work boots) will cut your toe(s) off when significant impact and bending of the toes occurs. It is generally preferred to break your toes than to amputate them! So steel toe boots are generally not recommended. But then they are your toes (as long as they are attached).

    Motorcycle Transport- Ottawa to Toronto

Until about 10 years ago one barely ever saw wheel chocks. For years many of us (which ever that is :) ) hauled dirt & race bikes around in the back of a 1/2 ton pickup truck and only use 2 tiedown straps, one at each handlebar grip. We just made sure the front wheel was straight square with...

Nope they will not work. I go to an automotive graphics outlet & get some clear 3M sheet guard. Sorry as I forget what it is called. It is the highly flexible stuff they use as stone and scratch guarding on cars. Last year I paid about $10 for a square foot. I have installed it over factory...

More info: I like the +Ventures because they also have some elastic stuff on the sides so it conforms nicely to my body and also it has draw strings at the sides of the waist area so that it can be adjusted to fit snugly. Not all vests have these features. This is important because a vest works...

    Sliders/engine guards?

I wonder if the full covering poly covers cause that area of the engine to run a tad hotter as they will act as an extra layer of insulation, so to speak.

    Chain and Sprocket Kit

I have had sucesses via firmly applying the rear brake with my foot and using a long bar handle on the socket to loosen the front sprocket nut/bolt. Of course the loosening is done before the chain is loosened or cut off.

Thinking of buying this bike...any red flags?

Hopefully everyone realized I was just partially joking about a law and the placement of stickers/tank protectors. It is the boring winter time. I agree it looks like ****.

Looking to get into long distance riding, need some pointers

One thing I learned from others is to pack as light as possible and you will not need as much as you may originally think. For example I learned to only take a couple pairs of socks, underwear and tee shirts. Simply wash them in the sink at the hotel as soon as you arrive and let them air dry...

    Pennsylvania in the Spring

Oh, I see your point. I cannot remember if I rode the 120 yet. Will look it up now. Thanx. I rode the 44 in both directions the time I rode it in 1 day. Solo riding by myself. It kept me alert as I was rather swift on the return trip trying to beat the sun setting. Had to look out for the deer...

I suggest a heated vest for those cold mornings, evenings, high elevations.... I use a +Venture vest on sportbikes. It is very thin with a heated collar and 4 position temperature controller that can easily be manipulated in a second while riding with gloves on. This one is approx $160 with...
