    Mikey moto A+++

Also recommend Mikey, he also makes custom brake rotors, really niceand even for the ninja 250's as well. Agree with all the above, great guy, friendly, informative and really knows his stuff.

    250 riding group

Ok, confirmed, i'm in for tomorrow, also bringing a 600 as well. Again, if there's anyone in Brampton or Mississauga North that cannot do 400 series highways or don't want to I will be at the gas station at Hwy 50 and CountrySide Drive (SE corner) until about 7:00 AM then i'm headed east to the...

    250 riding group

Jinniwind :D no problem at all. Btw I will also come in from Brampton and I know that gas station, been through that area tons of times. So if anyone is coming from the west i'll post up later if i'm good and I can lead a group east for the meet up. I would suggest we meet at the gas station at...

    250 riding group

Don't worry about the size too much, if you look at the route it's straight forward and from what I can tell there will be a good mix of experienced riders such that we can have people interspersed so we don't all lose new people because the lead is way ahead. I don't think i've met afelotreyu...

    250 riding group

Not much, just giving a "heads up" to those who haven't done these road/s before. I will try and attend, won't know till maybe tonight.

    250 riding group

Awesome, I don't want to be on another crash ride. I hope we can get enough experienced folks out to keep heads as sane as possible. I was personal witness to a 160+ throttle up wheelie exiting a corner with me being in the line of trajectory. If it had gone wrong and I was at 120 my self...

    250 riding group

I might be interested as well depending on whether another ride goes or not. I've done this route before as well and I do ride a ninja 250. For those that haven't been to the 507 before the hwy itself is a 70kph 2 lane (1 lane up one lane down) road. Please keep in mind there likely will be...

consequences of having dropped the bike 3 times in one ride.....??

No problem, after a while you get used to this and the process is second nature. The added advantage is you get to know your bike and it's fuelling much better and you can diagnose issues on the move. Keep an eye on your idle speed, our bikes are supposed to idle at 1350 RPM. I find even 100 rpm...

consequences of having dropped the bike 3 times in one ride.....??

Yup, you can also close it in stages. When it's cold out (10C and less) I start the bike with full choke and wait till the rpm gets to 4000 on its own then I bring it down to about 1500 RPM +- 100 and ride from there. As I ride I judge the warmth by watching the revs and feeling the...

consequences of having dropped the bike 3 times in one ride.....??

No you won't damage the bike but it will run the rpm's a little high on idle. I notice on my Ninja that once it's warm and I leave the choke on the bike is less "spright" right off the line from idle. Once I close the choke completely it's better, it has better throttle response from idle.

    i'm almost new

OP i'll not tell you how much to budget as i'm a believer in setting the budget before you start looking. I ride in leather whenever its not raining as it's the most protective. When it's wet i'm in textiles because of their water proof/resistant capability though i'm not as protected, my...

Hello, new to the site, and to riding. :)

Welcome, get a 250 to start until your riding instincts are developed enough to be safe on a 600....nothing like being in a sketchy situation in the wrong gear and revs about to hit the power band of your new to you unfamiliar 600...be safe, there's more than enough time. As some say its better...

    Clicking sound

Try and distinguish the type of noise. A clicking (as in high frequency noise like tapping a hardened piece of metal) or is it a clacking noise like if you are tapping a thinner less dense material like Aluminium. A click could indicate valves depending where on the engine it's coming from a...

    Liquid Body Armor

I think this has great relevance to our armour when worn inside a jacket or elsewhere as it shows amazing energy dispersal especially to penetrating type impacts, the type we are probably most vulnerable to given what's available now. Of course very sharp slow speed penetration as in a...

    Her Diary / His Diary

how's this as well. He has a problem and his wife can't really help him. Doesn't want to bother her with his problems unnecessarily, rightly or wrongly chooses to tell her it's no biggie and not elaborate. Unfortunately since guys can be single minded, he's preoccupied in trying to diagnose the...

    Reducing helmet noise...

I will next time for sure, there were only three of us in there at the time, the other rider was well ensconced in his chair and talking with the two nice young women from the store :)
