This could help, also I'm not sure if its on this bike but when it's cold, my bike has idle adjustment (05 zx6r 636). in the winter i'll turn it a little to make it idle at higher rpm.
also when it shuts off, turn it off completely and let it prime once or twice, this usually helps.
I know what you mean. I use mothers Back-to-Black. It's amazing! The product makes all the plastic parts black and shiny (I also use this on the car mud guards). This was before I made some negative molds of them and had some fun with CF and it's sweet shiny resin.
Well that's not necessarily true. What if he's painting his gas tank? I'm not a painting genius but I'm quite sure that uncleared paint will literally drool off the bike if gas touches the surface.
Edit:
I actually wanted to look up on it a little bit and found this informative article...
Finding the color isn't an issue. As everyone stated here, you can find it on colorite but having a good clear is a different matter. I've seen some new product floating around the internet that is basically a two stage aerosol can clear. The second you want to use it, you pop off the top...
I've received quite a few inquiries so i figured i'd post here.
I guess I could do $100 for any GTAM member. I normally just sell them to previous customers or close friends but figured hell, enough people have helped me around here.
Anyhow the kit comes with two projectors (like the above)...
The issue is that it's quite expensive to get it fixed by a professional such as yourself.
My whole job cost me:
$20.00 for the kit of plastifix
$10.00 for 200,400,1000,2000 grit sandpaper
$200 for matte black automotive paint
$100 automotive clear
$0 practice using hvlp gun on cardboard
$0...
Wait so you don't use any fiberglass at all? Even on the back side for reinforced strength?
For my fix i didn't use fiberglass, rather plastifix which was a little expensive and hard to find. Apparently it's used a lot in the abs industry for fixes (lots of videos of it online).
Sorry to...
You can go to NAPA to buy some fiberglass.
For my next project, CF Fairings, I'm actually going to buy most of the stuff from plasticworld (by allen and sheppard). I've heard a lot of good things about it.
Also no worry's about not having experience. It's your first bike, have some fun with...
I did something similar last year. Was a fun project, you could look at it here:
http://www.zxforums.com/forums/zx-6r-forum/52430-paint-job-write-up.html
This year I'm doing another fun project, I'm creating a negative mold (i have a spare set of fairings) and than making a new set of carbon...
And how much does it typically cost for a set of rims powder coated?
Whats the typical turnaround time?
I've been meaning to pc my rims for 2 years now. I finally found a spare good quality rear but still cant find a front for my 05 zx6r.
I've bought a few things from Bayside Performance. I can honestly say that it was one of the best experiences I've had online and I'm a big online shopper. Well it was semi-online as I actually just called them but its almost the same thing :P
Great prices, fast shipping and I forgot his name...
