The unofficial GTAM 1987 CBX250H maintenance thread

There was one a few weeks ago, very, very low miles for far too much money. The one you speak of in Woodstock is much more modest (and camera shy, as it's using the same picture as the one for too much money!)...

The unofficial GTAM 1987 CBX250H maintenance thread

That's pretty awesome, I could be the next Miguel Duhamel (only 20 years too late and 20+ Lbs too heavy)! Sadly as cheap as it would be it's still out of reach for our single income budget. In case anyone's looking to sponser an independant ammature racer (because those are hard to find...), I...

The unofficial GTAM 1987 CBX250H maintenance thread

I went in search of a master link for the drive chain, and none are to be found from the usual sources. I contacted the manufacturer (RK Excel), who, in turn offered to send me a link (free of charge!) as this chain is now out of production. I figured they might back out when they realized I'm...

    Canadian Tire Sales on Tools

Go to your local Napa store, they have a massive tool sale on currently will end March 1st I believe. Their tool boxes are labeled 'Ultra Pro' but are made by Gray. I've had one in a service truck for over a decade now, very well put together.

    Canadian Tire Sales on Tools

+1. Snap On for screwdrivers, ratchets and oddball (specialty hammers, mirrors, magnets, ratcheting screwdrivers, wobble extensions etc). Maximum for the rest (sockets, wrenches, hammers). The warranty on the Maximum stuff is the same as it is on the Snap On truck, except you don't have to...

    Canadian Tire Sales on Tools

I carry the 110V M/C 1/2" 7.5A electric impact in my service van. Its heavy and awkward, but on a -20C day working outside it beats the crap out of coercing my compressor to start and feeding all that humidity to my Snap On MG725 (which kills everything, only the IR 2135 can hold a candle to...

    Replacing helmet foam

I picked up a NOS Bell Pro Star helmet (1986) some time ago. The liner and shell are perfect, I'll bet they've never seen the light of day. The foam however is crumbling. I've found a vendor online for the pads http://www.genuineaccessories.com/HlmtsFF/PRSTROLD.htm, but was wondering if there...

    Anyone miss riding yet?

Lol. My CTC Schwinn is a complete POS as well. It has the worst saddle ever passed off as a seat, the crank bearings are cooked, forks have lost more oil than BP ever did. I was ill over the summer, spent some time in the hospital. Upon my return, I noticed someone had stolen my wife's pedal...

New soon-to-be rider in Richmond Hill

+1, don't forget the new Yamaha R3, Suzuki GW250. Both should be easier on insurance and have good fun factor. T

Which gun should be banned next?

Not 'which' gun should be banned, but 'what' gun should be allowed. To go forward we need to look back, the answer to the 'gun' issue is a musket. Exchange your MAC10, AR-15 or Glock with a Canadian Government issued Musket. Open Carry? No Problem! Loaded guns are no longer an issue -...

    1/8 npt tap

There's a Fluidline not far, 1155 Appleby Line - they'll have everything you need. It's not a cheap source, but they are your best bet to eliminate driving around. If I were stuck in Milton (Who can get out now with the congestion) I'd go to Halton Automotive, they have a decent selection of...

Everyone likes Japanese steel. . Going with a 12T countershaft sprocket puts the final drive ratio right in the same neighbourhood as swapping out the rear with a 38T rear, for a fraction of the cost (eliminates the need to replace the drive chain as well). 35/12 = 2.916 38/13 = 2.923...

New air filter and air box door seal, spare plug to bounce around in the tool compartment. If your air box door looks like this, you're missing the seal. The seal is critical, may as well run with no filter installed otherwise. There's enough seal left for another go. The retainer...
