    Race license? SOAR, RACE?

Forgot to add - you can rent a transponder at a RACE event, so you don't have to drop a lot more on a transponder of your own. Still it's $45 per event. Definitely the RFID option is much more friendly.

    Race license? SOAR, RACE?

In RACE, there is only Amateur Superbike (no Novice Superbike class), so it looks like SOAR would be your best option with the 1K. I wouldn't suggest dipping a toe into RACE AM Superbike as your first race, even if you are reasonably competent at TDs (read: ride expert at Shannonville), racing...

Update: thanks for the interest everyone, all spaces are currently accounted for this winter. However we usually see some movement in the spring so if you are still interested in considering such a space please send a PM and I'll get back to you. Enjoy the rest of the season! GRAYYZ

Advice on purchasing "track only" bike

LOL, under the seat? Sure, keep proof of ownership with you. I just don't think keeping it on the bike is necessary or even wise. I have never been asked for proof of ownership for either of my bikes (one with ownership, other with bill of sale only) at any track in Ontario. Some friends have...

August 23rd... Riders choice at Mosport...

Thinking optimistically, paramedics typically tell the rider not to move, and will put on a neck brace and other restraints as a precautionary measure until docs do diagnostic tests to assess any injuries. So fingers crossed that he/she is o.k.

Have you ever thought about racing?

Do it. My first race this year in round 2 there were 5 of us noobs, and it totally blows away any track day experiences you may have had in the past. Great crowd to hang with, and very helpful with any questions or problems. If you know the track config, you can save money on registration and...

Looking for US bike gear suggestions

Riders Choice may still have a bunch on sale, stop by and see. Could end up saving you some $ even compared to cross-border shopping!

Mosport with Pro6 or Rider's Choice

Both run well attended and professional days. My preference is Riders Choice because it is a more laid back environment. They are also $30 cheaper for a day at Mosport, and Thursday TDs work great for my schedule.

RACE Superseries program for July 20-22 is now up!

Great pics Rob! The weekend was a blast, Novice 600 was a rush. Ended up finishing 4th, sadly saw Terry's wipeout coming out of turn 7 (right hander) that nearly collected the bike I was battling with. Got a PB and a podium in Middleweight Sportsman, bit of a lonely ride as the two front...

Indianapolis MotoGP Aug 17-19, anyone going?

We'll be there, 4 driving down in an RV staying on the track for the whole show. Why book a hotel when you can bring it with you, lol. May also be Rossi's last year on a Ducati!

    Pit tents

Currently use the Walmart model, has one broken/repaired strut but has survived 3 seasons without too much grief (~12 TDs/yr). Just need to make sure you anchor it well. Benefit is that in its cover it is comparatively small vs the more beefy models. I actually prefer the design of the...

If you need a space to wrench on your bike but don't have a garage...

Rent is about $115/month for enough room for a workbench/tool chest, shelving and 1 bike +/- stands. First and last are required so that we have time to find new people if anyone needs to move out. We are looking for people to join for longer than just a couple of months, most of us have been...

If you need a space to wrench on your bike but don't have a garage...

We have room available in our shared space to accommodate 1-2 new people who need somewhere to store/wrench on their bikes. This is a very good group of serious enthusiasts, who do everything from cafe rebuilds to racing, and a great way to meet and get advice from others who are similarly...

Question: Sharing a Track Bike in Same Track Day

I've done this with a friend in the past - registration is per rider, not per bike. The bike gets 2 stickers if being shared. Also have known others to bring more than one bike, so all needed to pass tech and each got a sticker. One plus about sharing a bike is that you can keep the tires...

    Riderschoice info

Unless that other shop has a crystal ball the info you got from the other shop is only conjecture. For someone who admits he isn't mechanically inclined you sure don't act it. BTW, +1 GSXMAER, great post.
