I did less damage to my bike, but more damage to myself when I lowsided. I protected my baby with my shoulder :P Not sure what I would prefer, 8 weeks not riding, bike not damaged or damaged bike but able to get right back on after you pay the $ to fix it. Welcome to the club :D

Also, Royal Flush, are you planning on doing the course before you ride it at all? If not, I'd suggest you get familiar with the bike before you take it out on the roads, play with the clutch and get good with the friction zone, go to a parking lot or something and set up some cones, try doing...

I remember at the course they said to be ready to hop off bike if a car was coming towards you and it looked like it wouldn't stop (from the side) I always thought about that and how bad it would look if you did hop off, bike falls over and car stops with plenty of clearance. Be embarrassing...
