Yes - it is a great idea to mark the components. it might be better to use a sharpie as that won't get erased as easily - and measure the length...
If you purchased the shift lever...this costed you about $120ish right?
That lever would have that pivot already installed on it.
So you
(i) take the bolt that the shifter pivots on...
(ii) then unthread the shifter rod (measure check prior) then get the new part....
(iii) screw the shifter...
I wear glasses , so I know the fogging issue well....
I've been wearing a balaclava for years and it does well..

so this a 2009 zx6r - the 599cc version ?
1. When its overheating on the hwy - whats the ambient air temp?
2. What does the RAD look like ? it is clean ? any damaged fins?
3. Who flushed the coolant in the past ? Was there anything at the...
I would not use anything from Dorman - their quality is horrible and failure rate is high.
Why would you even think about rebuilding car calipers ; unless no-rebuild ones are available - why?
Have you checked your piston condition ? for car that vintage - they might be pitted
Well this is mostly a street bike forum ; and they mostly use sealed chains. I am not sure what a maintenance free chain is.
(Every drive component needs some care, chains to belts to shaft drive)
I've seen plenty of bikes where the clip from the master has flung off ; but the owner did not...
The JB weld is a great idea - it will hold for a while.
When I have to do a chain job, and the chain supplied come with a clip link ...I encourage the rider to opt for a rivet master;
In case it is not possible - I have good luck with RTV + Safety wire - it seems to hold for a good while...
The bike needs to have rear reflectors and rear side reflectors ;
the plate bracket usually has it. - a lot of people take them out after they get the bike....
