The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

I knew a guy that got a mid morning call from the police saying they had arrested his wife for DUI. She was on her way to the liquor store.

That is reality for some families.
Yeah. My father was a functioning alcoholic. The 10 foot wide space under the front windows in our dining room would be filled, wall to wall, with a 3 foot tall stack of empty 2-4s on a weekly basis.

In our local school zone, soccer moms park in the bus spots, the overflow double parks in the active lane and a third wave plugs the street. All so their precious cargoes don't have to walk too far.

If the kids were given demerit points for front door pickup it might help.
At the daycare just down the street from home the snowbanks mean that the parents can't load the kiddies from the sidewalk so they're all loading from the street side. Of course, they park on both sides of the street because they're too lazy to walk 50ft down the street. So every morning and afternoon they've reduced the street to one small lane, with open car doors sticking out on both sides, distracted parents wandering into traffic without looking and hyperactive toddlers trying to break free to run into/out of the daycare. It's a miracle that nobody has been hit yet. Meanwhile, there is a nice big parking lot that the parents could pull into to load/unload safely...

Ambulance vs tractor trailer. T bone in intersection. Paramedics took the brunt of it. Driver has brain damage, paramedic not driving has spinal fractures and more. I have no idea which driver screwed up.

I'd be shocked if the number of legally licenced transport drivers on the road now is >50%
A gravel hauler lost a wheel on hwy 26 yesterday. The normal list of tickets including no valid cvor. Driver from Brampton. A commenter had a good idea where a failed roadside inspection should trigger an inspection at the home yard. Where there is smoke there is probably fire. I'm not sure of the efficacy though as if they are in the yard, they may not be committing an infraction. A spot check on the road outside their yard may keep them off the road for a few days.

Friend is a teacher at a local public school . A mom came in a 1pm to rage at the principal over how she had 'verbally diciplined ' her son. Principal told her if she surrendered her keys ( as visibly impaired) and walked away she could come back tomorrow am and collect them. She came back at 3pm drunker to argue. She left in the backseat of a cruiser .
