Some of it was shot down by the Connaught streetcar barns, in a few takes you can see them running in the background. The flat tire scene was shot on Cherry Street down by the lift bridge. The Chinese Restaurant was an actual local T.O. spot. The flagpole licking scene was shot at a school in St. Catherines. The fire truck is still there I believe.
A classic.

My favourite Christmas movie for sure. When his father tells him to take off the rabbit suit.....that run upstairs is real.

I am not actually a big fan of the film but for some reason my wife bought me a smaller version of the lamp years ago...

Classic Xmas film for sure...RIP Bob Clark and son as well.. Both killed by an Mexican Illegal driving impaired. Was a good friends with my Father.

I got that lamp for my step-son a few years ago. He displays it proudly.

I’m probably the only guy on the planet that has never seen that movie.I’ll have to watch it this year.

Dear God , Gavin whatsoever signed on to make a mediocre movie and created a classic . Peter , the kid , is now a famous director . Possibly the best Christmas movie because it hits hard for so many of us , ****** cars , TVs that don’t work , relationships that are sideways and the campy Canadian mix . Chippewa fire truck ….
