Just saw a Global News story on it and a local said that the whole situation should have been de-escalated sooner, before this happened. If the guy with the gun is a SovCit then there was no d-escalating it. Any attempt at enforcement of the bylaws simply results in escalation on the part of SovCits, as they don't consider statutes and bylaws to be "real laws." They usually try to somehow import US talking points into their "legal" objections, no matter where they're actually located. I've seen it from SovCits in Canada and Australia. In the US the SovCit movement has been declared a terrorist organization for years now.
