its here....

The important part...

You understand that Roadster is still under development at the time you entered into this Agreement and so we cannot guarantee when your vehicle will actually be delivered or if it will be delivered.
And based on the cybertruck, it may be double the money, half the specs and years late.

EDIT:
This is funny.

Imagine the insurance rates that a flying car would rate and while we are dreaming what countries would be willing to road certify such a vehicle?
No countries will permit such stupidity. Using it won't be much different than indiscriminately blasting a shotgun behind you (dangerous jet will also pick up road debris and blast it everywhere). It will be like nitrous for closed-course only and if they catch you with the tanks full, they will 172 you and take the car.

In practice, that car was gutted, had no driver and almost certainly had a tiny battery. Like most of his promises, by the time this goes to production, it will be closer the Mercedes bounce or maybe the chinese ev that can "jump" by lifting suspension quickly. Those systems could get approved as they aren't stupid and dangerous. Hell, his steer and brake by wire in this car is enough to keep it out of most world markets.

A ride like that would bring new meaning to make a run to the border.

Where? On the Moon?

I’m def curious how they did it. Because I’m gonna make an educated guess and state that those puffs were not from rockets of any sort.

I’m more thinking of some drone underneath that shell.

I’m sure the truth will come out.

Light enough shell and enough impulse from a jet and it can do things. I won't be surprised if they used something heavier than air for the demo yo increase impulse. Takeoff and final landing get the benefit of jet hitting the beautiful smooth surface with side skirts down so the pressure acts on the whole underbelly (again, assuming that this wasn't virtual trickery). A big gyroscope inside (like a seakeeper) could easily control attitude, it couldn't help with takeoff or landing though.

Science center used to have a little thing you could drive around powered by jets. It floated like air hockey and the jets were ~100 psi. Obviously the roadster is bigger and heavier but it is using pressure two orders of magnitude higher.

Edit:
It has that giant ground effect fan too. I suspect it is full in reverse for takeoff and landing.

I should open up my old aerospace engineering books…it’s only been 25 years since I graduated…

Meanwhile, a REAL car from a REAL car manufacturer.........

US unveiling on the same pier in Queens they unveiled the 550 Spyder in '53. Mid engine flat 8 (RUF designed) hybrid. 1,000 HP.

Wow, how dumb of Porsche to release launch so close to tesla

Barely registered with anybody in the car media's radar, I'm now starting to hear about it today.

It's getting roasted on the socials compared to what tesla is offering.

Pure comedy.

Timing was def wrong.

But at least with Porsche you know it’ll deliver the good promised. Most of them anyway.

To me the whole Tesla video seems off. Something about the way the car moves seems off during the leap.
