I saw them open for The Who at Rich Stadium/ Buffalo and a couple months later headline at MLG. Strummer`s sudden death was a shock.

Anika is absolutely killing it, she`s a powerhouse. Check out any You Tube vids of them at MSG/NY. Loren Gold on keyboards is great, saw him a bunch of times with Daltrey solo and a number of Who gigs. Seeing the pure joy on Geddy`s and Alex`s faces is heartwarming and Anika has become the crowd sweetheart...Neil would approve.

Good to hear. They were huge from about ‘79-‘82. Sold out pretty much any venue in Toronto that they played. I saw them many times at The Knobby (Knob Hill Hotel) in Scarborough, a real classy place. Frankie Venom RIP was a great front man.

I don`t have any riot experience but I caught The Who at the Pontiac Silverdome, where the Detroit Lions played, two shows after the crushing stampede in Cincinnati that killed 11. Spookiest show going in that I`ve ever been to, Dec. 7th `79. We got there about noon and stood outside in the blowing sideways sleet storm with a crowd growing by the thousands every hour. The gates opened up at about 4 and a huge rush of crowd moved forward, the show was all general, "festival" seating. I yelled at my girlfriend to hold onto me as we joined arms and recall taking a bunch of steps 6 feet long or swept along without stepping. I think there was almost 90 thousand there, a hundred or so less than the Stones, Wrestlemania where Hogan fought Andre and the Pope`s mass. :D That was shortly after Moon died, kinda` different show with Jones on the kit, still great. I think general admission seating was scrapped after that mess.

I saw a lot of shows at the Nag`s Head north, 404/Woodbine - Steeles area. Kim Mitchell, Goddo, Lee Aaron when she was 20 or so:love:, Eric Burdon, Joe Perry project. They used to show the Daytona 200 for a few years too, the place was jammed with fans and racers watching the big screen going nuts when Roberts won on that oversized 680 GP bike, touching 200mph on the banking...`85 or so. Did you ever see Tony Springer do his Hendrix tribute act?...amazing. He was the spitting image of Jimi and stellar guitarist too. Caught him at Top/Bluffs and many other venues, he did some work with Bowie and others I believe, last I know he was still doing the odd gig.

Don`t think I saw `em there. Last time I recall was at the International Center bike show, roasting hot jam packed hall. I always think of Henry Rollins show I saw with him talking about seeing the Ramones in a packed sweaty show, jammed in like sardines. Some guys junk pressed against his arse, "Oh nooo,... they`re coming out for another encore" :LOL:
