Agreed, I enjoy how the movie followed the style of the TV show with music an important part of the story telling. I've seen the movie around 6 times now and due for a 7th.

Dolores O'Riordan. Served with a double single malt. The only sound that is as pure, is Joni.

Volume waaaay up.
I’ve always said that Canada has been blessed with some of the greatest songwriters and Joni Mitchell would be very close to the top of that list, having the voice of an angel certainly doesn’t hurt either. I would also add to that list Gordon Lightfoot, Bachman-Cummings, Neil Young,Robbie Robertson(all of The Band included). I would also include Blue Rodeo on that list. Am I forgetting anyone?

Anne Murray and Celine Dion are up there too. Gord Downie may not be the greatest voice but, his lyrics are unique and his voice is distinctly his own.

Gino Vanelli actually wrote a couple of pretty good songs, love the “Black Cars” video. Nobody has mentioned one of the all time greatest one hit wonders, Dan Hill with “Sometimes When We Touch”. Also honorable mention to Bruce Cockburn. Wow, so many with international hits.
