Some of you may know I was involved in a motorcycle Crash on Oct 5, 2025 in Calgary. ( I moved to Calgary July 1, 2025) (BTW This was my first real crash since I got back to riding July of 2006 and over 856,347.00 km / 532108. miles of riding since July 2006)
I broke my wrist, sprained both wrists and turned out I lost a job I had started a few days before the crash. As it turned out the company I just started working for got bought out by a large (American?) organization and the new owners not seeing me had one of their people take my job.

A friend told "One Broken Biker" (OBB) about my crash and they reached out to me providing me with emotional support, financial support and connection with law firms that specialized in Motorcycle crashes.

They are a non-profit organization working in Canada to help hurt riders.

I didn't know about them until I moved to Calgary and feel that all Canadian riders should know about them. I hope youe never need tham but nice to know they are there if you need them.

What the heck!

Hope you`re doing okay under the circumstances.

Cast for my broken left wrist was off a couple of weeks ago, Both wrists have "Soft tissue damage" which I think means "Sprained". Doing physio exercises for the wrists every day. It hurts after the exercises but I guess that is what it takes to get better. Might be a while but 8 inches of snow this past Monday means no riding for a while anyway. I'm in a good state of mind, it could have been worse! I moved to Calgary to be an active Grandfather (Grandson born in July.) I'm glad to be alive and part of his life as he grows up.

Damn. I hadn't heard from you in a while and figured you were just out piling on the miles. Glad you here you are on the mend and thanks for the info about OBB.

You are welcome! I did get some nice riding in the mountains this summer. The mountains sure are scenic!

I hope that riders here will know abut OBB so that they or a rider friend are aware of OBB

Glad to hear you are on the mend. No one goes out west seems to come back. I remember you’d pile on the miles here while I whined about the traffic and weather. Being in your grandkid’s life is so awesome.
Wishing you a full recovery. Thanks for the links above.

Hey @V-Tom glad to hear you are alright. I meant to reach out as I saw your posts on Stromtropper about bike etc, and was wondering if you had shared your story, thanks for posting the info here.

Hey maybe it's a sign to come back to Ontario?

Just learned there are regional based OBB teams in Ontario based in Ottawa and in London (Ontario)

These are facebook links:

Ottawa: Log into Facebook

London: Log into Facebook

If I find non-facebook links I will post here.

I quit my job (In Toronto) and moved to Calgary because I wanted to be an active Grandfather. My grandson was born July 2025. As long as my daughter and her family live in Calgary my plan is to stay here.

Have you been out to Drumheller, if not it's a surprisingly interesting area.
Ride safe!

Hope you are mending well.

I too relocated (50%) to Timmins to be an active grandfather to my first granddaughter born in May.

I've been training her - when she grabs my finger with her left hand she squeezes. With her right hand she twists.

I'm loving it.
