Pickup Trucks

So I guess next cross post topic…

How can one safely transport a dog with a pickup truck? If the dog is small enough it goes inside with kids…any bigger and may need a kennel in the bed to keep it safe but out of the way.

That cap (thankfully) got sold, so I’ll keep my eye open still for a different one.
If you're buying a kennel to transport your dog make sure it is something you'd transport your children in. Some cheap PetSmart special will not do.

100%

I'd like something solid and safe for the pup to be transported in.

As @oioioi another minivan might be the next step! LoL

I agree if you don't have internal space for all passengers good time to consider another vehicle or hold off on more babies, pets etc.

I went out today to see a specific sales guy a co-worker recommended... 'Left the house 89% sure I was going to bite the bullet and buy my new f150...
'Lucky for me the guy was off today... LoL

He's back tomorrow so lets see if I'm still brave/stupid enough to go see him. 😁

Ordered my F150 Lariat Jan '24 and have zero regrets.

My BIL liked it so much he ordered the identical truck May '25 and also loves his.

So….should I lower it? Love the truck but wouldn’t mind a bit tighter suspension / response from the truck.

Current went from 225 -> 235 and it helped, but wondering how I can tighten it up more without (or without) lowering it.

Torsion bars? Theres a few suspension kits but they all drop 1.5-2” as a minimum.

EDIT: anyone know how to use FORSCAN properly? The change to 235/50-18 is about 5% off in size and I can’t figure out how to reprogram new tire circumference so the damn thing keeps reading high by 5%.

All weather - 235/50-18
Winters - 235/55-18

I can change the tire circumference, but can’t figure out the relearning of the sub-modules that feed from the main BCM.

The F150 FB page has lots of good susp and Forscan info. If there's a Mav one it'll likely be the same. I personally wouldn't lower it and instead would look into some different shocks to change the ride.

Personally I would not waste the money. They are throw away vehicles.

Ask a dealer - for 2026 a 300T package will include a Lobo lowering kit (bringing it down 10 mm in front and 30 mm in the rear), stabilizer bar, and performance-tuned springs. There's other stuff too that likely you won't want/need - follow the link.

I read about that! 300hp in a Maverick would be fun. People open up those motors through COBB and have good results.

The suspension is of most interest to me.

Didn't you sell a car to buy a pick up? And now you want the pick up to be a car? "I'll take confused for 10 points Alex"

I just looked at the prices of Ram 2500 and holy cannoli! I could buy a house up north or out east for that! :( How in the heck do people afford to buy a new vehicle all the time, my goodness gravy.
Yolo. That HELOC life. Or lease it through a business. Vehicle prices are insane.

He should have bought one of these. 500hp V10. You can get them for less than the price of an average new vehicle with mileage ~50K. Kids can ride in the bed with the dog.
