Where are the Toronto Jays fans

Pretty rich from the guy that cancelled legislation that capped reselling through official channels at 50% or face value…

Just a publicity stunt, I think they always bandwagon when I big event is on, about scalping, and nothing really changes.

Ticketmaster has probably had their hand so far up the butt of any politician with power for decades. There is tons of money to be made there. There have been years of complaints of concerts selling out in seconds and coincidentally, tens of thousands of resale tickets listed on tm controlled reseller sites seconds later. It is pretty clear that they (or a closely related entity) is running an automated scheme to maximize profit and screw the public. Crickets from politicians and police.

They certainly know how to manipulate the sale of tickets. Even Taylor swift and her fan's can't force them to change. There was a bunch of issues around her last concert, bringing in legal action, and law makers, but it doesn't seem to have made much impact.
Maybe they should just go back to selling tickets directly

They have exclusivity agreements with venues so all event tickets must go through them. Some big names have cancelled events in Ontario when they could not prevent their customers from being gouged. Banning those agreements would be simple. Writing laws that encourage competition is much harder.

Anything to do with Ticketmaster is a hard pass.

While I understand the sentiment, are there any events in Ontario where you can avoid TM?

Many years ago when there was the horse show in the port lands (Cavalli?), I was going to buy tickets as my wife would love it and at the end of checkout the service fees were insane (something like 30% of ticket price). F that nonsense, I'd rather not go than support that business model.

No more selling tickets behind home plate to Marlin-red guy and his red-sunglasses buddy. Everyone standing and they’re sitting staring at their phones the entire game. Sell those tickets to real Jays fans! (Or better yet, buy them and donate them to a diehard elderly fan that can’t afford to go).

There was a leaf game and a Jay's game on last night.....it was an easy decision what game to watch.....lol
And a raptors game….

GO train was crazy busy but everyone was respectful and no issues.

Here’s to hoping I can score one more ticket to either game 6 or 7 if it comes to it…

I strongly considered taking the family to Game 3 or 4. Tickets at Rogers centre are $15 each. If enough people show up, it could be a good time. Sadly, prior commitments likely kill that idea for me.

30 some odd years ago I was working at night insulating my first garage and listening to the Jays on the radio when they won their first World Series. I guess it's time to tune in again.

Know someone who broke a leg badly at the game.

Game 7 of the Mariners series….section beside the one we were at a foul ball hit a guy in the back of the head as he wasn’t paying attention.

Dropped on the spot. Wife panicked and also fainted.

2 people taken away on stretchers.

I heard a radio call in show last Thursday about the Jays tickets. A guy said he has a friend in LA who got a Dodgers ticket for their first back home game.......$57.

On a related note...long tyme ago I knew a woman who was knocked out by a puck at her boyfriends game, gotta` pay attention. Thing is... in the previous couple weeks she got hit in the head with a beer bottle some idiot threw at a New Years Eve party in downtown TO. Prior to that she slammed the boyfriends car door on her thumb, mangling it so badly the Docs weren`t sure it could be saved, it was but never was right.

Problem is that idiots like me are paying the prices they set.

Mind you season ticket holders have apparently a 50% discount on post season tickets.

I wouldn’t pay full retail ever for those games.

I hate Ticketmaster with every ounce of my being. Pretty sure any politician of any party could win by promising to ban the fuckers.

I'm not a big fan of baseball (too many stats, too long and weird rules) but I'm very glad the Blue Jays are where they are and I hope they stuff the Yanks.

The changes made to baseball over the last few years made it much better. No more waiting minutes for a pitch and many hours for a game.
